I know you love your old legends but there comes a point where your taking the pis. Jack Johnson would not beat Wlad.........period, try and look at this way, if those two were fighting next week and you went to a betting site what do you think the odds are gonna look like. We all respect how these guys changed the sport but live in the real world ray
What specifically makes it so unlikely that Johnson would beat Wladimir?

And by specifically, I'm not looking for general ramblings about "obsolete style".

I think John Tate, wba champ late 70's would be the best fighter wlad could beat.

he should be able to get the better of 48 year old lennox lewis, though tbh I wouldn't be completely confident of that...

70's Ali would be faced with a tough matchup

but I think he'd take a close but unanimous decision

still had great hand speed, better lateral movement, a much better ability to throw a variety of combinations from different angles

He also lost twice to Norton and once to Frazier, cutting the third fight close.

I picked Ali to win a close UD. So I think its highly likely he wins. I just think Wlad's style makes it tough for Ali to establish his usual outside dominance, making it an awkward fight for him. Wlad's style does that to some degree, not as effectively as Norton though. Ali would find something that worked eventually, he never did that with Norton. The outcome in doubt with 3 rounds to go or so and then Ali pulls away.

Wlad's best chance is if Ali shows up unprepared like he did in Norton 1. Or if he fights Ali right after he came back in 1970. Ali hadn't quite figured out how to adapt to his diminished skills at that point, I thought he looked terrible against Bonavena.

                  I would say Jack Johnson.

If not, someone like Ken Norton.

                    Jack Johnson will outwrestle him.

And Wlad lost to Ross Puritty, Corrie Sanders, and Lamon Brewster. All inferior fighters to Norton and Frazier and Ali.
