I don't think you're going to convince many people (if any)that Charles and Patterson were better heavyweights than Foreman. There's no logic or reason behind that. And it's unlikely that either would last more than 3 rounds against Foreman.

In terms of punching power it's not even close.

Heavyweights were very weak from 1944-1960. Geezers, LHWs and Journeymen.

I got Louis and Marciano ranked #2 and #4 respectively but their era was god-awful.

Frazier was bigger, stronger, faster, and hit harder than Marciano.

Both had alot of heart, stamina, and good chins.

What if Muhammad Ali and George Foreman did not come along in Frazier's era?

Frazier would have won the title in 1969 and held it 7 years through 1975.

Now all of the sudden his resume' looks better than Marciano's.

        Put Frazier ahead of Marciano.

Why don't you list some experts who have either of them ahead of Foreman in their ratings? Or better yet, anyone who would pick them to beat George. Mayorga isn't nearly in the same class as Mayweather so that analogy is just ridiculous.

What if Ali and Foreman had come along in anyone's era? Ali and Foreman seem to win all fantasy fight polls. I don't think its right to put Frazier only ahead of Marciano based on those two fights.

There arent too many heavyweights better than those guys, both of them had an insane amount of heart and toughness. You could see that in Foremans comeback. 45+ years of age taking the best punches of the new era HW's in stride and even managing to win a belt. These guys were immensely determined and tough, just different times. rocky was very tough and determined himself but he didn't have the physical attributes to back it up. In my books Rocky didn't even really learn how to properly snap his punches either. i don't consider him a huge puncher really, more of a volume puncher with a huge gas tank, if its anything he had on Frazier, it was stamina.

I think Marciano was a very hard puncher. He punched hard enough to lacerate a boxers brain. Put the boxer into a coma and he was paralized on one side of his body for the rest of his life. Marciano threw great punches and they were great to watch. If you don't admire Marciano's punches you don't look at things the same way I do. I think Marciano's punch is one of the best looking punches in the history of boxing.

Why is every era that isn't the Golden Era classed as ****?

Pick an era where you think they wouldn't have been equally or even more successful.

I think Liston can beat Forman, Marcaino might be able to beat Ali, Louis can beat Forman and maybe Ali. I think Ali and Forman would do better in other era's or at least as good.
