Lol. Despite that the statement includes me as well, I have to agree.

Son, if you had any manners you would hang yourself.

Scream now to use the same bathrooms, but I guarantee your ilk will later scream with the same frenzy for separate facilities. Just let anyone suggest you cannot have separate facilities and the new war is on for you suburban hobbyist protestors.

I disagree about the arbitrary use of 18 years of age (for many things) but also realize we really have no choice but to draw an arbitrary line somewhere.

I also don't believe that it should appear in elementary schools, that would be grooming.

But as a high school teacher I would argue that if there is going to be an identity problem it needs to be addressed during the high school years.

All that goes with it becomes evident (and self evident) in the teen years, and to force a silence on the issue until after high school is over, is going to cause trauma.
            O' wonder.
How many goodly creatures are there here!
How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world,
            That has such people in’t!
            - - We managed just fine in my HS without any parental of school oversight. Don't recall any soft lads or hirsute girls getting shamed or beat up, but of course I went to a highly integrated HS both racially and religiously because I grew up in Houston.

We had the largest graduating class in Texas, 1000+, and guaranteed any fighting or verbal abuse was grounds for suspension or worse.

I taught in an inner city school with diversity.

When you have an aggrate that is made up of various m-inorities you don't have a bullying problem. We didn't. Everyone was a minority, including both the whites and American blacks.

M-inorities, being a minority, will quickly take a live and let live stand. It is only when you a have majoriterian culture that bulling occures.

After a school shooting we teachers used to say, sarcastically, "When our kids shoot to each other there is usually a gold chain involved, no need for a psychologist." We actually felt safer for that very real reason.

School shootings is a white problem, because bullying is a white problem.

When our kids became violent there was a tangible reason, not emotional dysfunction.

Even our gays and trans were left alone.

Yours is a refreshing perspective on a forum that's typically reminiscent of Sto rmfront more often than not.....

What I have marked in red could use a little amplification. Did whites do all the bullying in your old school?

We had no whites. Early on I did but a 'white flight' to central Florida in the late 1980s emptied Hialeah/Miami of its white population. By the end my classroom race ratio literally said 0% next to white.

But even then, early on, we were never a school with a majoriterian culture.

There was never one group that set any kind of cultural standard that others might be mocked for not measuring up to it. E.g. language spoken.

I repeat myself: Min-orities don't like to bully for fear of being bullied.

If you want to find bullying, visit a school where there is a majoriterian culture. White, black or brown. There you may find bullying.

But diversity actually works. Not because it makes them better people, just more respectful of one another out of necessity.

The bullying problem is mainly a White problem because that's the majoriterian culture you are most likely to encounter in a public school.

When the kids all speak the same language, dress like they all shop at the same store, watch the same movies, listen to the same music, Etc. That's when you find people being ostracized and the bullying begins.

But there are now celebrity kids all dressing in skirts and wearing make up claiming to be tran***ual. It is a fashionable fad like wearing flairs was in the late seventies, but even though it is a fad for teens to toy with androgyny it is still making light of the very serious pain that REAL trans men and women feel deep inside.
I think the breaks need to be put on this child exploitation so that transgener issues can be viewed with compassion rather then scorn.
I have a friend who comes over from Calgary,he is referred to as," Canadian Bob,",in our town , he is a big fella with tattoos, and was always thought of as,a beer drinking, football loving,"man's man".
Bob is married with a daughter ,a couple of years ago Bob transitioned and has now had the operation to remove his male genitalia, and create a semblance of a woman' s . Bob as he was once known, told me he went through hell for years, denying his true feelings.
I feel desperately sorry for such people ,trapped in the wrong body, and believe anyone has the right to be whom they want.
On the flip side I have an autistic Grandson 21 years old who now says he identifies as a woman,we all humour him, but as far as I am concerned , it is .

2.A symptom indicating he does not like himself, which stems from his condition.
