I think there's an argument based on the longevity & number of defenses in his reign.

    I just don't think it's a good argument.

If he had beaten prime RJJ at 160, he'd be on the Mt. Rushmore.

Even if he'd beaten Toney when he was at 160, there'd be more arguments.

Am I missing Ypung Corbett III on here? Outstanding middleweight with some excellent wins.

Billy Conn also with a very underrated middleweight resume.

I’ll check my old list tomorrow (if I remember) when I’m on my desktop. I’m pretty sure I had Hopkins Top-10, but beyond that much I really don’t remember.

I'm really not trying to argue where he sould be as much as I am stimulate conversation. All time has always been subjective just like p4p. If you lean towards more modern fighters his 20 title defenses mean a lot. If you lean towards resume, not so much. I do believe Hopkins has a better resume than a few other ranked ahead of him. I also think his longevity counts......like it does for Wlad. It takes a lot to stay on top even in an era not considered strong. That doesn't mean I necessarily place him 5th, I'm just asking for opinions and reasons why other may have him higher or lower.

Well, you must remember; It's a two-cent list.
              Aren't they all?

Two cents my azz!! That's a million dollar list. A few missing names hardly devalued it. There aren't to many people who can name that many fighters and put them in a respectful enough order. Your lists ALWAYS impress, even when there may be a name or two missing. Much respect!

Ok, here's my old list (late 2000s), I'm Old-School 8 so this list is middleweights and junior-middleweights. If I was making the list today, I'd probably push Burley and Greb ahead of Ketchel and Hopkins, maybe Lamotta, Monson, and Zale too.

Very nice.......but WHY ARE Young Corbett III and Billy Conn getting no middleweight love? Wins over Walker, Conn, Lesnivich, Brouilard, Apostoli, Jackie Burke, Ceferino Garcia.......why isn't Corbett III getting any recognition?? I am genuinely curious about this. I don't have a ton of knowledge on the man, but his resume speaks for itself.

Can't understand a Middleweight list without Dick Tiger on it.
