And by that I mean attack one or more country s in NATO s group?

No, they I do not think Russia will attack NATO directly. NATO members better get real and start contributing the fair share. Russia rich is buying out London. The threat to them is as big as their problem with Islamic people who live under Shira law currently living in the UK. And their population is growing faster than the native born people if the UK.
In short the future of the island nations is a cluster f()@k and they better not rely on the USA to fight their battles.

I think *****'s failures in Ukraine is giving Xi second thoughts about Taiwan.
Ukraine was suspose to collapse in weeks, it didn't. China has to wonder if its inferior (to Russia's) forces are possibly looking at a prolonged engagement, with a Chinese economy that would be devastated by scantions.
The nice thing for us is that an embargo against China would leave us without trivial manufactured items we can live without. Scantions against China would deny them vidal resources in food and fuel, which they must have.
It may be why Xi is trying to cozy up to *****; Xi needs to insure both oil and grain supplies before he can risk a prolonged engagment with a surprisingly high tech Taiwanese defense.

Please the people of Taiwan can't defend themselves vs China. China is waning for the right moment to strike when their navy is better and there missiles improve range and accuracy.
99% of the news does not know what is going on and in turn 99% of the West does not know what is going on. IMO Ukraine will be forced to accept terms eventually, not that I am for ***** at all.

But people were saying the same thing about Ukraine, so it looks like that way of thinking, the 'quick victory' is 0-1 right now.
It may well be that technology has finally reached the killing capability that large numbers will no longer prevail.
Also Taiwan being an island even if tiny is an advantage; land (flat land) is always easier to cross than water.
Right now China doesn't have the technology or logistics to carry out a prolonged occupation of Taiwan (in particluiar it has a second level navy) and right now Ukraine's determination and technology is showing us that quick victories are a thing of the past.
P.S. Claiming that no one knows the truth is attached to every argument every day. Making the other guy's susposed ignorance part of an argument is no longer a viable point, today it's always on the table for both sides.
P.S.S. I should add I think you are correct, China just may try it, and soon. But I think it turns sour for them, fast. Just like it did with *****.
Plus I repeat, scantions against them (China) will hurt much more than they are hurting Russia. China needs (must have) international trade or their short term situation quickly becomes dire and contradicts all the peaceful long-term economic expansions they have achieved (over the past score years.)Last edited by Willie Pep 229; 03-31-2023, 12:39 PM.

Taiwan is an island that depends on imports and exports and is right next to China who happens to have the world latest navy. Now it's not the USA navy in terms of power but it is one that can from a blockade around the tiny island which is right next to China who also has major air force. Unless the USA backs Taiwan and commits to a major air and sea war Taiwan will literally be choked out in months. Again pay attention to the geography.
China has robot like human beings and they hate Taiwan due to political brain washing. And Taiwan isn't part of NATO. Many of the Asian nations don't like each other. Being a small Island nation is a disadvantage in defense these days vs a powerful nation.

Nuclear Subs
USA --> 67
China --> 12
France --> 9
Aircraft Carriers
USA --> 11
China --> 2
Italy has as many aircraft carriers as China, (2).
Navy wise China is NOT a serious person.
"Junks" don't count.

Now pay attention to this. China is developing or has and land based misses capable striking air craft carriers ( missiles which are land based ) which can hit aircraft as far say Hawaii or will be able to do so in the near future . The distance of the planes needed to strike without a refuel is less than this. These missiles travel at hyper sonic speeds ( very hard to shoot down and have laser and satellite based targeting. ) The air craft career is a giant piece of war and a great asset against all other navies, but against these type of missiles they are sitting ducks. They just are. Many boat and planes defend these aircraft carriers, but none can defend vs. hyper sonic missiles which travel extremely fast. Now I don't know the true range of such missiles, just pointing out the obvious. The USA admirals are aware of the problem.
Unless the USA plans on losing some of aircraft carries, they won't risk war to defend Taiwan. Nuclear war? A very slim chance at Twains expense. My conclusion is, if China attacks Taiwan they are pretty much fighting their own battle.
We are being badly out built navy wise by China. It's a ship yard building type of thing. China has many more.
Yes, we do nuclear sub edge to but they do much damage conventional speaking without using NUKES.
