My list is a combined-criteria system involving considerations of both head-to-head & accolades. That being the case, my top-10 figures to be...

    Champion - Joe Louis

    #1 Contender - Muhammad Ali

    3. George Foreman

    4. Jack Dempsey

    5. Sonny Liston

    6. Joe Frazier

    7. Lennox Lewis

    8. Larry Holmes

    9. Evander Holyfield

    10. Mike Tyson

Honourable Mentions: Gene Tunney, Rocky Marciano, Rid**** Bowe, Jim Jeffries.

Among the worst in history (linear-only) would be Leon Spinks, Hasim Rahman, Marvin Hart, & Shannon Briggs.

For me: Based on (a) overall achievement and (b) standing in their primes.

        Muhammad Ali
        Larry Holmes
        Joe Louis
        Jack Johnson
        Mike Tyson
        Lennox Lewis
        George Foreman
        Joe Frazier
        Rocky Marciano
        Sonny Liston

In h2h, if all 10 guys were in a league, at the end of the season (primes), I reckon Ali, Holmes and Tyson would get the medals in that order.

Based on a head 2 head of all heavyweight champions in history
Lennox Lewis would beat every single person on your list and already finished 2 of them in real life.

          Lennox def Dempsey TKO 5
          Lennox def Ali TKO 10
Lennox def Joe Louis KO 4
Lennox def Gene Tunney TKO 7
Lennox def Jack Johnson UD 12
          Lennox def Foreman KO 5
          Lennox def Tyson KO 8
          Lennox def Frazier UD 12
          Lennox def Holyfield UD 12
          Lennox def Marciano TKO 11

Joe Louis is the only one who could get lucky on your list, but would get destroyed in a rematch.

Lewis over Ali, Holmes and Foreman?

            Ok, mate.

Not to mention Liston, Tyson and a host of potential others.

I just took a look at my own list, at the top of the page, & discovered though I place Lewis at #7 all-time, I would actually start him an underdog, head-to-head, against all nine rivals I also listed.

It's all opinions, in the end.

ALi and Foreman have never beaten someone as big as Lennox Lewis.

George Foreman is too slow and unskilled and Ali doesnt have the power to hurt him.

Ali beat big guys often enough, and he more then had the power to spark LL. He put away Liston, Foreman, and other guys much much tougher then LL.

Ali would just dance and jab, much quicker speed of hand and foot, and keep Lewis at bay. Ali wins by late KO.

Also, at 6'3/220 Ali was a big guy himself.
