We know there is 63 people left on the train. They want to know the original amount that started on the train. So, subtract the 17 that just got on because they weren't there when the train departed, and add back on the 19 that just got off on the first stop.

It's really just 63-17+19. You're over thinking this. It's for kids in grade two. There is no red herring lol.

not sure how old everyone else is, but I was born in the 80s, in grade school when had to do these in 3-5 minutes, I cant even imagine how long it would take kids today to solve for this

Good post except for your conclusion blaming *******ism.

There are conservative tax exempt organizations that are spewing poison too. Like the Heritage Foundation for example.

In my opinion the real problem is the moneyed interests behind these foundations and think tanks....the ones that manipulate society from BOTH the left and right side of the political spectrum.

We as a country are simply too caught up in Team ******** vs Team ********** to see it, unfortunately.

Didnt really need to do an equation. I looked at the problem and thought what's the big deal it's 65. I knew that 19 is 2 more than 17 so I just added that to 63.
