Any of the drunks on here ever done a liver function test???

I'm pretty much a machine when it comes to drinking beer! Drink loads every day and have for years now. I'm a fu@king animal really lol. Lately decided to try give up. Went to the doc and she took bloods to do a liver function test. Got the results yesterday and failed miserably!
She said the test is divided into 3 parts and most heavy drinkers have 1 (abnormality) but i have 3. Basically 40% of my liver is just dead cells....beast i know!!
So now i have to dry out for a while and do another test in 6 months to see how much it repairs itself.
I was pretty shocked actually! So i'm going to keep drinking till sunday and try go dry for 6 months after that.

Damn thats effed up. I quit drinking long ago. I just smoke weed now. I was a ****hole on alcohol or had a strong drive to be a ****hole + catching a DUI & spending a few grand getting that sorted out brought me down to reality about the "fun" of drinking.

I think I'd be careful with that dude for the time being.

Damaged liver cells no longer breakdown alcohol as well as they should and by-products of alcohol breakdown can cross the blood/brain barrier and really mess you up.

If you ever get really anxious and depressed after drinking a lot - I'd give it up. Ammonia and maganese (breakdown products of alco) can damage brain cells.
