I'm curious to know what kind of tests you had? Saying you failed does not give much details. If you were tested on a fibroscan for fibrosis and you failed then you might be in big trouble...you might have cirrhosis which is deadly. If you had ast/alt tests what were your scores? If you don't know the details I suggest you find out because the liver gives little warning in terms of how you feel until things go dreadful wrong and the very quickly get real bad.

She asked me if i wanted a print out of all the tests n **** but i didn't bother getting it. I could still go and get it though. You know a bit about this stuff?

Hey Psy.....Unfortunately it's time 2 put your serious drinking behind you. You owe it 2 everyone around you and your girls. Been a beer chugger since I was 16. Developed a taste 4 ******* in my early 20's and fine tequila was my dessert through the 90's. Needless to say though I don't have sclerosis of the liver it has taken it's toll on me and my liver. Been in and outta hospitals the last few months.

Damaged liver cells no longer breakdown alcohol as well as they should and by-products of alcohol breakdown can cross the blood/brain barrier and really mess you up.

If you ever get really anxious and depressed after drinking a lot - I'd give it up. Ammonia and maganese (breakdown products of alco) can damage brain cells.

Not quite, alcohol breaks down into acetate basically, it has no nitrogen to form ammonia. A damaged liver cannot breakdown the ammonia from protein digestion into urea which can damage the brain.
