If we're good, our souls leave our body and fly up to heaven where we'll be joined by our dead friends and relatives and we'll be able to worship god forever.
If we're bad our souls are sent down to hell where its really hot. There we'll be tortured and be made to suffer forever.
So yeah....as a logical, college educated adult, of course I believe in it. Makes total sense.
energy cannot be created or destroyed, only converted from one form to another,
so what happens to us? after death?
that's just a ridiculous argument, honestly.
We are only conscious because our brains our powered by chemical energy from food, once the chemical energy stops being converted into other types of energy (eg: electrical for neuro-signals) then we stop being conscious and the remaining chemical energy, and the energy by virtue of the mass we are made up of remains constant. Usually it breaks down and contributes to various chemical cycles(burial) or undergoes a reaction with oxygen to make a bunch of other chemicals like CO2, Water etc etc. (cremation)
Maybe you're not familiar with me or my posts, but brutal honesty is often my approach. I take being called "insulting" as a compliment and I don't give a **** about offending anybody's delicate sensibilities.
Anyway, continuing to dwell on how I hurted your feewings isn't going to accomplish anything other than swiftly derailing this thread, so.....
