Also watch the Abraham fight hell watch the first 5 rounds with Kessler! go watch it, it’s not some grapple fest he was moving hitting switching stances, getting hooks and straights off cleanly and avoiding shots, uk fans hate on Ward like crazy but dude was highly skilled
Miranda's trainer confirming Miranda hurt Dawson bad in training:

"It's very simple. That day we were prepared for a ten round workout. In the ninth round, Miranda executed something that I've been telling him to do the whole workout - left [hand], right hand, left hook - and he knocked him down. It was devastating for me, because I don't want to see something like that, but it happened. He was hurt. He tried to get up, he went down again, and got up. In fact, I screamed to Rafael Garcia 'come and help him,'" Diaz told krikya360.com.

this has got to be the dumbest thread i have seen in a long time even for NSB

Ward was a gold medallist at 179, golden gloves at 165, hadnt lost as an am since being pre-pubescent and retired undefeated with only 1 close fight on his ledger, they are not close let alone the same street. Clearly Ward

Was man enough to take that challenge as well.

Ward benefited from dubious decisions while Fury suffered because them too.

Fury has boxing skills, Ward is a spoiler who uses illegal tactics

        Fury is levels above Ward.
this has got to be a joke, youre better than this bro.....dubious decisions? the man had one close fight in his entire pro career

And I am convinced that a lot of people who tout Ward and that dominance you mention, never really watched some of his fights...anyone who says he dominated Bika or Barrera, I mean I just don't know what people were watching...I assume most who say that, didn't watch...because I refuse to believe that objective people who know boxing could say he dominated those fights...that would be like saying GGG dominated Derevy lol.
Judges are not from Oakland! Any more than they are from Vegas. Its just a way to respect traditions. Ward was boxed up, laced up, and grew up in hardscrabble Oakland, the city of Jack London, Billy Martin, and many tough guys that were for real.

he dominated many great fighters, thats an accomplishment. Watch Ward on tape...and he fights like fighters used to fight when they could fight in more than one range.

And what that exactly means really crystalizes when you consider his biggest career "win" came from a punch to the balls.

Ward is no Fury. Not even close.

It's ridiculous to make the comparison.
Yet he still managed to fight the best in his division...go figure. I don't compare fighters this way, it is silly. I don't think one can compare the two. different divisions have different considerations. as stated in earlier post... Its like saying whats better chocolate or sex?

That being said lol...I don't know how anyone could really watch Ward against good fighters, and see a TON of skills...he wasn't that hard to hit really...he had a pretty good jab, but not much power, and wasn't super active himself...you put all that together, and he never really separated a ton in my eyes vs good fighters...just had a lot of close rounds, and often times had close rounds while being allowed to get a little rough.

I notice these guys are from the UK but I do think a lot of Ward fans are from the UK...I would also add that 2 judges had him beating Froch 7-5, in the US...I also had it 7-5, though felt Ward was the only winner in that fight, as he kind of eased up at the end in some rounds and let Froch back in...but hard to say he dominated when he was at home, known for getting great cards in his career, and still won 7-5 on two official cards.
It's correct that Ward is revered by many UK casual fans, as are all the top US fighters. He did beat Froch fair and square, without head butts, low blows, or excessive holding and spoiling, and the UK fans gave him due respect for that win.

I've watched him a bunch...I think he was a smart tough gritty fighter...just not very exceptional as a boxer...and bro, we all know that the A-side/home fighter gets very favorable cards generally...it is what it is.

Ward's gift decision and low blow KO wins over Kovalev were probably the 2 most dubious results I've seen in many years of watching boxing.

                      Ward never cleaned out 168.

                      Ok ok one fight short.

I think beating kovalev makes up for it
