It's not like Canelo had a belt and Lara was his mandatory. Some of the fights at 154 can't even get made due to politics anyway.

To no surprise you're Missing The Point! The point is, big fights are not formulated based on styles, mega fights are formulated based on rankings and what fans consider the VERY BEST FIGHTER FIGHTING EACH OTHER!

Mayweather vs Pacquiao was huge because it was the 2 Very Best Of Their ERA! Had nothing to do with Styles In The Ring! People call for GGG vs Cotto because their #1 and #2 at Middleweight. GGG vs Canelo is big because they're considered the best in their Divisions at the moment.

Trying to pick match ups purely based off of EXCITING STYLES means absolutely nothing in boxing. That is great as you try to build your name up but once you get to the top like Mayweather and Pacquiao the fans will always call for you to test yourself, it doesn't get easier at the top it gets HARDER!

If you picking fighters based their styles then fighting GGG shouldn't take 2 years right? He has style the fans want, so if he beats Cotto then lets see what will be the excuse.

        Boom!

Anything after this is just flailing and failing. My man done laid the truth hammer down.

Any way you peasants spin it, THIS is the reality: You want Cotto to have fought both Sergio AND GGG while Canelo give youtube interviews about how his fans want him in exciting fights like Kirkland...

          Shyt is transparent and sad.

You always think you're making these amazing points, when you're not. When you did, I gave you your props. Most big fights (that attract casuals) are usually between two draws. Mayweather and Pacquiao were the two biggest draws in the sport for the last decade or so (still are). Cotto and Canelo also have a strong following. GGG is slowly but surely getting more popular after every fight. That's why people (not just hardcore fans) want to watch these fights. Say Andrade was #1 at 154 but he wasn't a big draw, do you think Canelo vs Andrade would be a big fight? NO, it would just as big as Canelo vs Kirkland or Canelo vs Lara/Angulo. Unless those are big fights in your mind.
In fact, in your first post you didn't even mention anything about big fights.
You said, "Avoiding styles is only a postponement for failure in the long run because you will have to get in with a stick and move type of guy again eventually. In that post you're basically implying that Canelo avoids slick fighters for brawlers. Where do you mention anything about big fights? If a slick fighter arises and becomes a draw in a few years, then I'm sure Canelo will welcome it. For now, what slick fighter at 154/160 (besides Mayweather) is a big draw?
Shoot Canelo already fought Trout and Lara (neither is a big draw, big mega fights btw-BIG they were indeed), so he's shown that he's willing to fight different styles. I don't see him avoiding these slick fighters.

I know you were just responding to the original poster, who posted a video where Canelo said "Sergio likes to hit and not get hit..." In other words, Sergio is a professional boxer...". So basically implying that Canelo will avoid fighters that try the "hit and not get hit" style. But think about when that video was made, 2012, since then Canelo has fought Trout, Mayweather and Lara. So although he said that he still ended up fighting slick fighters, did he not?

You probably don't understand Spanish but someone posted an article from October 2012, just two months after the video, where he said he wanted Martinez, Cotto or Mayweather (two of those are "slick" fighters). So even though he said in the video that his team advised him to avoid those fighters (hit and not get hit style), Canelo still wanted them.

You coming running to Cotto's defense when anybody says a bad word about him and then you start hate thread after hate thread about Canelo and GGG. I don't think much of Cotto but I try to keep that to myself unless some peasant like you comes along and trashes my two favorite fighters. Canelo fears nobody and has tried and tried to get a fight with both Cotto and Martinez but you can't fight somebody who doesn't want to fight. Canelo agreed to everything Cotto asked for and Cotto still refused to sign the contract. Canelo, unlike Cotto likes to fight more than once a year. By refusing to sign the contract in spite of Canelo agreeing to all his demands Cotto left Canelo no choice but to find another fight. Cotto is the only reason that the Canelo-Cotto fight didn't happen. Now that Cotto has got that 50 million deal he has no choice but to fight Canelo next to earn some of that 50 million back for his backers. I will bet all the money I can afford to lose on Canelo to beat Cotto because Canelo is so much better than Cotto it's almost a sure thing. Every time I see you starting another thread trashing Canelo or GGG I'll join your thread to trash the guy who changed the middleweight limit from 160 to 157. and defends his title against Geale instead of the guy who knocked Geale out 11 months ago.

Dude, stop owning yourself. Cotto is doing the exact same thing. You got no room to talk. Draining people.

Lol. Canelo would have rocked Martinez. He's right, the fans didn't want to see that ****. I have 100% faith THAT Canelo would have sc****d Martinez. Martinez would have had his bell rung. Multiple times.

I mean even Lara tried to avoid him and got his eye split open like the red sea.

Just bring on Cotto and GGG already. These other dudes are round thief's. Not fighters.

Prime Martinez whoops Canelo's ass. Still, I wouldn't say Canelo ducked him. They were in different divisions

This was fun. Throw a Canelo nugget on the ground, and watch them come running for their rations.

"But Nelo is 155lbs and so what if he is 174lbs on fight night. He is too little to fight GGG @ 160 doe. Shame that Nelo and GGG are not the same size doe..."
