When was this video?..Look man, u cant compare what a fighter did yesterday, to what a fighter can do today...some of these guys are students...thats like me getting a video of Floyd struggling with Zab, and saying he has problems with southpaws, when in actuality, southpaws are now his specialty...Chavez is a different fighter now

NOBODY IS "HATING ON CANELO" it is just that fans are able to watch a Boxer Develop Into a Star compared to back in the day PRE-INTERNET when you was basically TOLD by Ring Magazine and other Sports Magazines who are the best in boxing and who are the up and coming stars and you really had no other choice but to believe it

NOW...we can watch fighters develop ourselves and we can determine for ourselves who are the Top Fighters in boxing and who are the next up and coming stars and boxing and we don't need Boxing Magazines to tell us this

with Canelo, yes has talent, he is not a completely BUM, but we know this guy is being hyped up more so for his EARNING POWER POTENTIAL...not necessarily his Potential In The Ring, because in the Ring his skills are VERY AVERAGE and they are nothing "SPECIAL" but because he is already big in Mexico and he has GBP and HBO behind him and promoting and hyping him...TO CASUAL FANS MOSTLY they are forced to believe he is "THE NEXT BIG THING"

As a LONG TIME HARDCORE BOXING FAN though...I don't see him as "THE NEXT BIG THING", I see him as a somewhat talented prospect who is being Promoted based on everything besides his Talent In The Ring...Can and Will he Get Better as a Fighter? ABSOLUTELY but don't try to fool the fans into thinking that he is "ONE OF THE BEST RIGHT NOW" by putting a WBC TITLE AROUND HIS WAIST, because we all know that is a DAMN LIE...

He haven't even fought any legit competition just OLD FIGHTERS and AVERAGE FIGHTERS GBP and HBO knew he would look good against and he did not even look all that great in most of those fights, he was basically HANDED THE WBC TITLE didn't even have to earn it

what is it that Canelo has that separates him from the other younger fighters in that 154 Division in terms of SKILLS IN THE RING? I don't think he is more talented then Molina, Lara, Vanes, Trout or Andrade in the ring he is just getting better Promotion from HBO and GBP

Anybody can get rocked by a good shot. JMM got rocked by Juan Diaz, Salido got badly hurt by Weng Haya, Oscar got dropped several times when he was still a prospect, Wlad Klit got stopped at the prospect stage, Holyfield against Bert Cooper, etc. The physiological reaction after taking a punch has nothing to do with fighting ability, nothing.

For example the infamous Spadafora and Mayweather sparring session. Spaddy had been in camp working his ass off training for a fight. Floyd really hadn't been in camp, hadn't been training. Spaddy got him in that sparring session.

Doesn't indicate that Spaddy is a better nor that Spadafora would beat him in a real boxing fight. I don't think Vanes could beat Chavez right now if they had a legit boxing fight.
You can't compare that to the Floyd-Spadafora sparring session because it was actually competitive, neither guy got his ass kicked like Jr did.

But it was YESTERDAY...The guy has done a total 180...I dont care if it was last night, the kid is getting good...and compare that, to what he did to rubio....two months from now, dont compare what he did to rubio, to what he will be doing then...the kid is decent, at being a student of the game...he gets better and better and we have to respect that

Matter of fact, watching this video again, kind of reminds me of how tough the kid is..he used to come across as a slow easy to hit guy...but now it translates to a tough durable kid who keeps coming, walks through punches...chavez used to be horrible, but he had something about him that made him special, and it was his toughness...he cant be hurt

Another "he's still young and learning" thread ... what a piece of shit.

The kid is a world champion (yeah it was a gifted belt against a boxer who was unranked at 154) and his best opposition to date is who? Old shot cintron? Rhodes? the almighty Alfonso Gomez?
