You can't compare that to the Floyd-Spadafora sparring session because it was actually competitive, neither guy got his ass kicked like Jr did.

That was less than a year ago.
isn't there a vid of Joseph benavidez jr ''beating'' pac man in sparring? now do you really think that getting the better of someone in sparring means they are better or would win a pro fight? not that i like chavez jr but i don't see the logic behind that argument

of course.but beating the lineal champion in your division is alot different than winning a vacant belt against Matthew Hatton

Am I saying that he should be cleaning the division? He should be at least fighting the top guys in the division!

Kirkland has faced Molina and Angulo.
Cotto is going to face Mayweather Jr and just beat Margarito, Mayorga and Foreman.
Molina beat Kirlkand (Yes, that DQ was awful), Cintron (before Canelo) and faced Lara.
Lara beat Paul Williams and got the draw with Molina
Delvin beat Wolak and has a draw with him earlier last year.

They may not be cleaning the division, but at least they're fighting better opposition and guys that are not just coming of loses like Mosley (no wins in the past 3.5 years), Cintron (coming off a loss with Molina, actually a beating with Molina), Alfonso Gomez (really?), Rhodes (best fight of his career against Jamie Moore) and Hatton (unranked, not a 154 pound fighter)

Actually he came off a win, he beat Antwone Smith (20-2-1 12 KOs) but people keep forgetting that...

Is that the guy who lost with Tyner?

Floyd was fighting Genaro Hernandez, a 2x SFW champ and the lineal champ at there. And Angel Manfredy, who was coming off beating Arturo Gatti and was the #1 ranked SFW contender in the world.

When Ali was 22, he was fighting Sonny Liston, a HOF fighter and ATG HW, coming off knocking Floyd Patterson out. Liston was like the 60's version of the 80's Tyson.

When Ray Leonard was 23, he was fighting HOF and ATG Wilfred Benitez.

Canelo's only notable wins are Ryan Rhodes, a top 10 ranked SWW, solid win at that time. And a past prime Cintron. That's it.

Im comparing the hype they have coming up not there ability, I know ortiz is fighting top level opponents but before that he was suppose to be the next golden boy and most would agree hes a good fighter but i dont think he is carrying the torch of golden boy. Overhyped.

Watch in May, Mosley is going to try and go toe to toe with Canelo and catch a beatdown. After the first few rounds, Mosley will be in retreat mode just like in the Pac fight.

Mosley hasn't meant anything since May 2010. That's the last time that fighting him has been legit. If Canelo stopped Mosley and knocked him out, I don't see how you could put that much stock into it???
