You gotta hand it to Mayweather......dude does smart business.......Puerto Ricans buying for Cotto.......Mexicans buying for Canelo......and they all pat HIS numbers..........good sheeet!!!!
How many PPv buys did Canelo have in his stand-alone PPV?
Funny how emotionally wounded people get over Floyd's success.
mayweather lives off mexicans, he either fighter one or use their holiday as a gimmick, you dont see mexicans fights black on muther luther king day, maybe they should.
Not necessarily. Believe it or not there are probably some Mexican-Americans who bought the fight primarily because of Canelo. Or that some die hard Mosley fans, an endangered species, bought it because they wanted to see Shane's possible last hurrah.
The numbers that Canelo and Mosley contributed may have been small, but it's still a contribution no matter how you look at it. In layman's terms, having Canelo and Shane fight in the undercard did not detract in any shape or form from those PPV buys. GBP wouldn't have put those two in the card unless they knew they were going to contribute. It isn't an accident that GBP has thrown Canelo in the last two PBF fights.
I think that group is less than 5%, emphasis on less.
I would say GBP throwing Canelo on the card had less to do with augmenting buys than to get Canelo spotlight and make him look like the next big thing.

I think Canelo, Mosley, & Cotto had a lot to do with helping those numbers. People seem to forget(specially Floyd fans) that Floyd's last fight with Ortiz left A LOT of people very upset. They needed those names and their marketbase to make the fight more appealing to casual fans.
They needed Canelo (someone who casual fans arent familiar with) and Mosley (someone who pissed casual fans off with his showings against Pac and Mora) to sell a Mayweather fight?
