Watched the Joyce Chisora fight... And it settles the debate for me! No way the antiquated fighters of yesteryear compete!!!

What I watched tonight... impeccable timing! light footwork, men coming in hard... in shape, not an ounce of fat! And the range of technique!!! the defensive genius of Joyce!! How could anyone compete from before the Klitsko era?!!!

Then I woke up... Listen gang sometimes? its not your own "expert" opinion, it merely takes a casual in the crowd to point out the obvious. My wife looks at me and asks: "Those guys are fighters? they can hardly stand up." "Honey they are so slow... And why do they let the other guy hit them, ohhh wait looks like they are too fat too move." At that point? (this was only the second round ) I took the car in to my buddy for an oil change, as I had seen enough...

When I came back and watched them stumbling around in the 8th round my wife informed me that "things had actually picked up." I then realized why one should not have loaded weapons in the house as I reflected on the state of the heavyweight division...

this is why only looking at the scale is the dumbest logic of all time. The easiest number to inflate is the scale. ANYONE can be 250 lbs if they really wanted to be. Especially with all the manufactured DNA altering food.

Agreed! But can you blame them for the marketing?

You can definitely blame them for not showing up ready to fight. No doubt there.

But in contrast you look at Teofimo Lopez. Pure WBC marketing coupled with enough talent and dedication that he got his first title shot after only 16 fights.

One can argue, from the fighter's POV this is all a good thing.

But as with all 'good things' it can be easily abused and you are correct, fighters are marketed to us who turn out to be nothing to shout about right from the get go. Only after we get burnt for the ticket price does it become apparent.
