Charles is another one... Killer instinct, well honed with a discipline of a boxer puncher. I heard that he hurt somebody really badly, or he may have even killed somebody, which made him decide to become less aggressive.

Great info... How come we so often hear about Max Baer and his misfortune with killing one fighter and possibly being a contributing factor to the death of another one, but seldom hear of Charles quandary? In both cases it is said it altered the remaining career for both men.

I thought any longtime boxing fan would have heard about Doyle. Robinson had a dream beforehand that he killed him.

Not sure I believe the SRR-Doyle story.

They say, they brought in a minister or priest to tell him it was OK to go ahead.

I also read that he used his next few purses to set-up Doyle's mother so she would not need.

I still just don't trust SRR. He had a flair for the dramatic.

What he did for Doyle's mom goes without question but he may have done that very good thing without the pre-cognitive dream.
