    - -Jim Brown admits Wilt whooped him twice in foot races and Cus didn't pick Brown to train, he picked Wilt. Leffy looking at the tatters of the memory of HS track results that may not have ever existed tells me his new titanium dentures gotta good clamp down on his new pacifier. End of the day, Ali didn't fancy the fight in 67 enough to humiliate hisself publicly by refusing to sign the contract the parties agreed too on Cosells Saturday Sports Segment arranged specifically for that function. No big deal, it happens!

Please try not to digress the conversation into who ducked who, or why it didn't come off, we have played that out many times - I am curious how you guys think this fight would have gone.

P.S. I realize while 'why the fight didn't happen' is legit Boxing History this question probably belongs in fantasy fights, but the 12 or so guys on this forum are the only ones I know and it's your opinion I am interested in. If Battling Nelson feels the need to relocate this thread, I understand.
Oh boy... Yu did it now... This is halfwitt queenie's Cause Celeb... According to the Queen B Wilt would take a highstep and step on Ali's head...

It’s not a subject worth debating. An athlete just because he is very tall, and or has a huge reach and or weighs allot has no chance, zero, in a fight against an ATG heavyweight champion. Wilt would be destroyed by George Chuvalo in very short order. No athletic prowess prepares one from being punched very hard in the face.

Its true. There is so much nuance to all activities that we develop into sports institutions. Lets reverse the situation and claim another athlete could B Ball professionally. Lets take Bill Russell who was a very bright guy, a superb athlete... and the many people he competed with during the Celtics reign. Lets take The ability to take a ball, put it in a hoop that is only marginally bigger than the ball, from substantial distances... I remember we formed a basketball team to play in a basic league when I was a kid. We were all decent street hoopers and this church sponsered us with my friend Richie Colon coaching the team, along with a ball player from the Murry Biertram High School. We got our butts handed to us. Even the act of a team who had a little experience as a team, put us at a tremendous disadvantage.

Boxing has so much to be aware of... so many habits we have to get rid of that would get us rung in the ring... All any professional fighter would have to do is wait for Wilt to make a silly mistake, drop a hand, extend to far on a jab, cross feet, forget to tie up inside... You cannot address points like this in such a short time. Its why fighters of yesteryear had more skills... they started early, learned the basics, knew how to do many things in the ring, fighters today do not do...Wilt would be so far out of his league that all the athletic ability and reach in the world would not help. And... there is that "thing" about taking real punishment, not just punishment based on indirect consequences like on a basketball court... But someone trying to punch you in the face, crack your liver, make your ear ring out... etc.

First solid blow would render Wilt helpless cowering against the ropes. Fight would end anytime Ali would want it to end. Wilt would have no chance to land on Ali while Ali, once he decides to stop carrying Wilt, would land at will. A non fighter no matter how large or well trained is still not a fighter.

And here is an article that puts to rest many absurd Chamberlain track myths.

Furthermore, Wilt was of course not one of the strongest men in the world. Perhaps he was one of the strongest among basketball players. The bean pole could probably not even finish the stone lift in the world's strongest man competition. He might get a few stones up onto their pedestals before his bird legs cracked on him.

                Unless you think this:

                Is stronger than this:

Does Eddie "The Beast" Hall have breathing problems like other inbred Bulldogs.

                  - -Wilt wilted Ali on public TV. Didn't have to throw a single punch. Yeah, busts up the Nancy Unified Theory of Ali, NUTA, so back to the Nancy drawing board, afterall, he whooped Jimmy Brown, so shout it loud, Ali whoops Brown in the consolation fight!

If Eddie does not have breathing problems I would be amazed. I have heard him breathe awfully hart, by burka. I believe Thor will pound him good. Eddie has short arms. At least at that thickness they appear short.

You can tell Eddie is naturally a tough guy, and mean as hell. If he got a holt of anyone, the fight would be over. You can tell he always thought of himself as tough. He is bound to have had a few street fights. The amazing thing is neither of these guys was naturally jacked with muscle like my old pal with the milking muscle. They had to workout hard to achieve their muscularity. Bob Johnson was that way naturally. He already resembelt them the way they are today, whereas they did not resemble their future selves.

Let me tell you, Bobby had no wind problems. He would carry a dear three miles off the mountain without stopping, just because you told him you had heard of another guy recently who did that. Pure animal in a fight.

wilt wouldnt last 15 rounds with an elite pro much less a journeyman. there is a reason pro fighters start with 4 round fights then move to 6, 8, 10 and 12 rounds. Wilt would be exhausted. other forms of endurance dont translate well to boxing and just being an athlete or looking a certain way doesnt give you stamina. James toney, tyson fury, andy ruiz and valuev all had good stamina and are fat or huge freaks. wilt just being a basketball player doesnt mean he can go 12.

I get that cus saw him as an athelete and wish he could train him for a fight but wilt was 31 already by 1967, so it was already a pipe dream by then for him becoming a pro fighter. And that is 31 years old in 67 with zero fight experience. "late" for a pro is mid 20s with amateur career starting by very early 20s.

wilt would be gased after a round or two and Ali would toy with him

I think the best people could hope for wilt is that he has a natural beard and can take some of Ali's shots well.
