    Nothing like that freedom.
I actually own a small boat. It may not be as big as Siablo's(or is it?) but atleast I don't live in mine

Never thought I'd start to feel sorry for this guy.

One of my dearest friends in the world was a manager for a yacht basin, did all kinds of boat repairs. he told me the two best days of a boat owners experience were the day he bought the boat, and the day he gets rid of it because it is a money pit.

People have some beautiful boats they live in here in the Bay Area. I actually did a very high end catering job for a Sausalito house boat that was docked. it was just like a small house in every detail.

Its a nice way to live, if you have no other dependents...

I want to share something with you: I seldom watch television, but there was a special on about different people living in remote areas of the world.

They had this one segment that really touched me... Made me feel good for the people involved, something I wished I could experience. It followed these kids, they were young, about preteen age, there were about 5 of them. So they would frolic about and when it started to get dusky outside, they would all light a fire, and fashion a treebranch like a stake. They would then each grab this type of spider, a big bugger... they would stake the spider and fry it in the fire. Spiders are similar to shrimp, but have more fat... they are reported to be delicious as a snack.

So before dinner, as the sky turned dark, these kids would have this time together, with nice food, and companionship. Very civilized, and it sounded so nice... I would have loved something like this as a kid. We would buy a sabrett hot dog and soda lol.

Joy can be found anywhere. The thing with your country is that marketers convince all of y'all that joy can only be had one way or only through their products.

No argument here. Consumerism is rapant for sure. People buy very expensive things sometimes and its silly. Cars are a great example of this. As an adult I have always bought all our cars at auctions. I pay at most 3k for a vehicle, I never got a dud yet lol. But we wind up with cars that we may have to put a bit of work in, and then run fine, no car payments, high insurance, etc.

You can get really nice older cars that are quality vehicles...meanwhile people will buy a really bad quality new vehicle. I don't get it.

Yeah bro you talk in facts. I don't own a car, LD is a bit like NYC in that regard. I don't want nice things so saving and investing is relatively easy. I spend way too much money on drinks and eating out (matron). But it improves the quality of my life. I want a telescope though!

I wouldn't begrudge that experience. Part of being young and single. So is being generous to women in my humble opinion. It can't hurt to cook a bit, restaurants in this country at least, have horrible profit margins these days... Food is expensive! But a night out is priceless.

Yeah, I get it for a dog, you can bond with a dog. Even then, $10K is steep. This woman didn’t have a lot of money either. Guess she used her and hubbies stimulus checks for this $12 chicken. And the chicken is her soulmate. She should have spent that money on therapy.
