Ok, I've been asked by a friend to be his best man, the wedding is this summer. Now, I dont like his missus, hes been under her thumb for a couple years. He acts like a hyper sensitive p.ussy with her (told him that he just lols).

And I dont really like her, I've watched her manipulate and mould him over the years.



Anyway long story short im asked to be best man, I dont want to be whatsoever but hes my best buddy.... Speech time, 0 issues talking to a crowd (taught before) bit his parents hate me cos of my erm, crude wit.... Now I can tone that down but still they stand there like a pair of overly judgemental faces (*** them).



So I dont like his fiancee, family and he wants his brothers to plan the stag and its s.hit, I'm
not paying to p.iss about Bankok dont care how good it is..
So guys, do you NEVER *** off bein a best man or is there an unwritten rule to never say no?

Im a bit stuck here. I really dont want to know tbh!

What would you do? Your mates parents dislike you, ypu dont like who hes marrying, no say on what happens on the the stag do (as the best man)... how would any of you guys go about it?

Tact wins the day here. Come up with an excuse as to why you cant come, but not one so good that's believable. Theyll get the hint and move on. If they dont... what do you care.

And to get off subject: there's nothing wrong with his misses. There's something wrong with him. She is pushing him to do what she wants him to, and there's nothing wrong with that. What's wrong is him being a ****ing ***** and not pushing back.

Honestly, I'd just take the high road and give a short respectful speech with little to no humour.
