Death Penalty For Treason?

I understand 100% why people are against the death penalty...

But for those who lose family members, and loved ones in horrible, violent murders, I think they should have a say-so in whether or not the perpetrator is executed.

Can you prove they are innocent? Or can you prove an innocent man was convicted and sentenced to death?

And if you read what I said - I said "the way USA carries out the death penalty now" is worthless, and wrong.

The system needs to be overhauled.

But I think there should be death penalty reserved for the most henious, odious, and violent of crimes. Including treason that results in the death of many.

They system in America is crap but do you know any countries where you feel the capital punishment actually have a good system? What can USA learn from those countries?

Yes, they are free to go but the corrupt judicial system took away many years of their life. Not everyone is that lucky. I'ts scary to think how many more innocent people there are who are locked up right now for life or on death row for a murder they didn't do.

I'm not familiar with the few countries who do have the death penalty (and their inner-workings). Most countries that do have it are strict Sharia law Islam countries, or poverty-stricken countries where basically you can apy your way out of anything.

I'm just talking about using capital punishment "in theory." If there was a way it oculd be worked out where people who are found guilty by a jury of their peers would be subject to execution IMMEDIATELY. Give them an appeal, and then that's that.

And where the family of the victim has a huge input and voice on whether or not they would like the perpetrator to be executed.

There's definitely a way it could be set up...


As far as innocent people getting convicted? Yeah, sadly, that'll always happen. No matter how perfect of a system you have. However, the amount of people who are falsely convicted are EXTREMELY rare. One is too many, but still, I do believe that the system of justice to determine guilt or innocence used by USA, is the best in the world.


But the way I envision the death penalty being used - is where ONLY when there is a "certain level" of evidence (must even be beyond the required threshold to convict somebody "beyond a reasonable doubt.") I'm talking about DNA evidence, the most damning circumstantial evidence (contrary to popular belief - some circumstantial evidene can be just as damning, if not more so, than physical/DNA evidence.)..

death penalty should be used for:

pedophilia - i mean its not like they are gonna stop wanting to have *** with kids. if you let them out kids will always be at risk. they will never change their ***ual predilection.

serial killers - unless they are reaaaally cool hannibal lecter level where we can learn information from them to improve our psyche profile etc..

terrorism - wayyyyyyy too many *********s alive in supermax prisons.

gruesome heinous crimes like those home invaders in the east coast who ****d and murdered a mom and daughter by strapping them into a bed and setting them on fire. women like andrea yates.

-white collar crimes that destroy people's lives. for the amount of damage some of these guys do, they dont get nearly enough years behind bars. sure bernie madoff will die in jail but far too many scammers get a slap in the wrist when it comes to years in jail. if your scam reached 1 million dollars. die and bye.

-people who think cricket is harder than baseball. disgusting dishonest human beings. we dont need people like that in the world.
