Nearly every country in Europe doesnt have the death penalty. Only 2 countries do i believe. Should it be brought back for treason? You think it would help with the *********s situation at the moment?

Example : Jihadi John who has decapitated god knows how many people. If hes caught he will spend the rest of his life in prison. Should the tax payer have to pay to keep him in a cell cosier than the ****hole he is in, in Syria?

I definitely think for certain acts of treason, death should be applicable.

Same for certain heinous, violent crimes.

However, if they are going to carry it out like USA does, then it's worthless.

It costs just as much to house a prisoner on death row in USA, and pay for all their appeals for 10-20 years, than it does to house them for 30-40 years in a max-security joint.


They should be given a fair trial, and the right to a quick appeal (say 90 days or so), and then execute them swiftly. So no more than 3 months passes from the time of them found guilty in a court of law, to the time they are executed.

Until the barbarity humanity has exhibited ceases to exist, then there needs to be a force that matches fire with fire.

Does the current death penalty module used by USA belong in a civilized (or any) society? No.

I'm not an advocate of the death penalty but it bothers me that "jihadis" can return to Europe from Syria like nothing has happened.

I think life imprisonment is a worse fate than death.

One form of punishment takes your life in an instant, while you're still you.

The other takes your life in a slow prolonged manner, killing all the parts of yourself incrementally until you become an institutionalized animal with none of the rights of a human being, until one day you look in the mirror, an old, withering ghost with no traces of who you used to be.

A life without a future, a life without hope is infinitely worse than the sweet sleep of death and glory of martyrdom.
