The plan is to go from Sacramento to Los Angelos with a rental car in 10-11 days. Then drive from LA to Las Vegas so we can stay Like 2-3 days in Vegas.

How many hours does it take to drive from LA to Vegas?

Sacramento to LA is a quick drive and very ugly if you so a straight shot down the 5. If you have 10 to 11 days, head west to San Francisco and start there. It is a really great city. Then drive south from there but take the coast. Get down into Big Sur, you will not regret it. You might want to stay there for a day or so or you can stop in Pismo Beach. After that, drive through Santa Barbra, its a nice town but not much to do. Then drive in to LA. That should take 3 4 days tops. If you plan on staying in LA, I would set aside a day to go to San Diego, its 2 hours depending on traffic but worth it.

LA to Vegas isnt that long of a ride, 4 hours depending on traffic and what time you leave.

And please - when you're on the freeway, stay out of the fast lane. Its for us locals that know where we are going. Thanks in advance and have fun.

If you go to Pismo beach, there is this restraunt called Pismo cafe. Try their clam chowder, it's the best clam chowder you will ever eat.
