I understand they own the NRA thru monetary power - but there must be **********s who are sick of this savagery too.
Because the NRA has ridiculously rich and powerful lobbyists in Washington who have the ears of pretty much every ********** representative and the NRA's members donate absurd amounts of money annually to fund those lobbyists to continue bribing politicians to vote against any sort of new law regarding gun regulation.

      It's literally all about money.

I've always said every school should have an armed security guard in the premises at all times.

*****: US gun violence "shameful" and "off the charts".

I am 30 years old and have always been a observant of world events. Gun violence has gotten worse in recent years, yes? I cant recall these bi-monthly attacks whilst watching the news growing up.

That's an idea that I'm not sure would solve the problem, but I'd support at least trying. Not a security guard, though - An actual cop.

It's a much better alternative than the absurd notion of arming teachers that, for some idiotic reason, has gained popularity among the general public in recent years. I just can't get behind the idea of arming 50 to 60 year old teachers in high schools where a classroom dispute could easily lead to some kid overpowering their frail teacher and arming himself in the process.

It also opens pandora's box as far as implementation of the firearm as a deterrent to bad behavior goes. We'd likely have a bunch of teachers whipping out guns over minor infractions and scaring the living **** out of everybody involved.

              BAD idea.

It depends on when you're talking about. To answer your question to the best of my abilities, I'll need a specific year(s).

Which of these last 4, 5, or 6 shootings? In particular?

Furthermore, even if true, since when does a common denominator equate to motive? You know what else was a common denominator in all of those shootings? Guns. Oh, and male shooters.

"All men with guns are crazed spree killers!!!"

                  See how ridiculous that sounds?
when i say "most" im refering to more than half. What you think im some conspiracy theorist nut job or something spending all day on infowars? I dont think so.

You could do the research yourself but you wont. Just incase you decide to though; you could start with that kid in connecticut (newtown) if you want. Then you could browse on over to that dude that dressed like thejoker in the movie theatre. Or maybe that movie stars son that just shot and knifed those people in L.A. a couple weeks back. Or the guy that shot up the Navy yard. Honestly, it goes on and on.

Again, this isnt something I read or heard anywhere else its my own conclusion. Take it for what you want. But i bet you when it all comes out this kid is being treated for something.

Why are you so defensive? Are you a pharmacutical rep?

Well the Dems had the House, the Senate and the Presidency in the majority of the 111th Congress [2009-2011].

Honestly, it should have been done then. A lot of **** should have been done during that period that, unfortunately for all of us, wasn't.

As for the specific reason why it wasn't, there are two commonly accepted reasons behind why the ********s didn't aggressively pursue a gun control agenda when they controlled both the house and senate.

Reason 1.) They weren't something we were really discussing as a nation at the time. From 2009-2011 there were a total of 21 school shootings in the United States with a total of 14 fatalities. That's a pretty low number overall and, while abhorrent, it wasn't nearly enough to demand the kind of media attention that school shootings are getting now.

Compare that number to the 74 school shootings (with 88 fatalities, including 20 first graders) we've had in just the last 18 months and it's easy to see why gun control is a more pressing issue now than it was then.

                      Reason 2.) They're p*ssies.

Personally, I think it's a combination of both reasons.
