    A question for the *************

I have a sincere question to the ************* in the lounge. It seems every time I read a conservative web site, blog or listen to Foxnews commentary, they are preaching the same thing over and over again.

They want smaller government, less intrusion in their lives and don't want to be told what to do. They want less taxes, to do away with government agencies like the Fed, dept of education, environmental agency and so on.

The theme seems to be do what you want, how you want, and don't allow the govt to tell you what to do.

I'm actually fine with that, and I share the views of less govt and individual rights.

So my question is, why do ************* then want to tell women what to do with their bodies regarding pregnancy, want to tell people who they can marry, and want to tell people what god to worship?

It seems that ************* would be the front lines for things like gay rights, separation of church and state, and the pro choice movement. They seem to stand so much for the 2nd *********, but ignore the 1st one.

    Why then the contradiction?

Thats the old guard. Im libertarian. Dont care about gays, women having ********s etc. Me personally I wouldnt go for ******** but thats me. I hold higher standards for myself as an individual than I do for society as a whole. BTW those prick cops that beat that schizophrenic to death for a half an hour got off. If they did that to my son and got off the hook...

They also don't want you to be able to smoke pot, an almost entirely harmless substance.

Thats the old guard again. Most "young" **********s are for legalization and taxation and regulation of pot. Besides its use in pain relief is far better than pain killers for nerve damage.

For starters, there is a difference between fiscal and social. Your first issues/examples were fiscal examples. Its not that the fiscal ************* dont want the government doing something just for the sake of not letting the government doing it, rather, they dont want the government doing something because they waste so much cottdamn money in doing said thing, and usually to an inferior result than if they let the free market compete and naturally produce better results......cheaper. Thats how competition works.

Your second examples are social issues. The have their moral ground that they stand on and believe in.

I have no problem with what women do with their bodies. My beef is the murder of another human being which is growing inside of them.

Gay marriage isn't a huge issue for me. I believe it's unbiblical, but there are far more pressing issues. However, it's gays who are trying to alter the definition of "marriage".

I don't want anyone to be forced to worship God if they don't want to. I believe in religious freedom.

Gotcha brotha. I don't have any problem with libertarianism, as I at least view it as a principled position. I myself don't identify with any particular -ism, although I suppose I could be categorized by someone into something.

Its pretty obvious that all ************* want is for everything socially to go back to early 1950's America and stay like that........forever!

Poor guys can't catch a break.

Yea but that makes my point even further. I mean, why is there a difference in philosophies between what you do socially and fiscally? Your morals are your own for the most part, we all share the idea that certain behavior is unacceptable in society, but not everything.

It's not ok for the govt to dip in your pockets, yet it's ok for them to dip into your personal life? Makes no sense.

Gays aren't trying to redefine marriage because marriage isn't defined in the Constitution. Also, your personal beliefs shouldn't be forced on others, don't you think?

Personally I dont see how it illustrates/makes your point. ************* are not against government, but waste. Big government and waste usually, and in this case does, go hand in hand.
