There many decent people who are not christian. Yet according the certain parst of the bible they need to except jesus in order to go to heaven.

It's not the "believing" in the techings, it's the living. To simply believe Jesus was the Son of God, who died for our sins and was resurrected, doesn't make you a Christian.
