That's cause most english players are glorified bums.

As much as I love them, English footballers are just like English boxers. The country gets so excited to support their own that they result in being vastly overrated. Which subsequently leads English clubs to overpaying for white players when in reality they could probably be getting cheaper and better South American or African players.

Scholes played for United, who won the treble in 1999, pretty much during his prime, why would he leave united?
Owen was recognised world wide and every country knew he was 1 of the best in the world...and won the Ballon d'ore in 2001
Shearer was well known but seemed content to stay in england
Lineker - played for barca for 3 seasons and got 2nd best player in the world 1986
and I could go on about the rest....
