Hmmm .... this forum is light years ahead of a few I could name. Maybe he's just tired of footing the cost of the site and the work it takes to maintain it.

All I see is the bull**** posts, the fighter bashing and some infrequent racism and baiting ... on second thought ... I see where he's coming from.

I have to agree with Rick here. I'm from the old regulars of the forum when these forums were the best on internet, bar none. I've been here since October 2003, good luck finding another that has been here this long because most have left and with good reason.

It's become unbearable to read anything of interest in these forums anymore because it would require hours of weeding through the flames and trolling to find the good stuff and frankly it's not worth the time.

I'm beyond happy for those of you who are so mercifully free of the ravages of intelligence that you are thrilled to read (decipher) 95% of the posts here.

But... I feel that Rick should close the forums for his own sake of being an excellent boxing fan and having to endure what he does to maintain something that has escaped it's original value. It holds very little for him anymore I would imagine and I don't blame him, I only come for the articles now, check the forums maybe once of twice a month.

I think the red bar i gave you speaks or itself.

If some people had their own way, you would be getting reviewed on who gets banned. And you would be one in question boyo.

What's the original post actually about? Who speaks for Rick? Who made the statement? What did the statement contain?

I can guess - but what specifically - is dragging the forum down? (And I'm asking mods/Rick that, so any regular member who wants to flame please don't bother).

Okay, I found the thread. Still be nice to get clear guidelines though. What exactly are we talking about? Smack talk? (Don't really indulge in that unless provoked, try and stay clear) Just plain bad spelling and standards of English? (I don't wanna boast...) or silliness? (Okay, I do do a few daft threads, not that many, but I can tone it down...)

Or are we talking the more serious stuff, all the race issues and so on?

when i first came here i was looking forward to intelligent discussion in non stop boxing. i cant stand posting in there anymore because of all the childish name calling and ruining of really good threads. you have a great concept here but the trolls are ridiculous. Thank goodness for the sanctity of the member lounges because general discussion is almost not worth it at times in here
