why didnt john stockton recieve the mvp, if all it takes is 11 assists and 15 points than stockton should have won the award 5-6 times. dont get me wrong, nash had a great year but he didnt deserve this award. john stockton had far better seasons than the one nash had and nash had more than one option to pass to.

just look at shaq's team.....other than wade, who does he have?
nash has marion, johnson, richardson, and stoudemire. i can only imagine what stockton would do with the suns, i would say an easy 16 assists per game.

there is no way nash is more valuable than shaq.... if someone thinks so they are dumb.
Uhm, what about Eddie and Damon Jones, Udonis Haslem and a resurrected Zo? It's not like Shaq and Dwayne had no supporting cast at all.

And if you look at the Suns you look at a team that came from the bottom to the top in one season. Of course Q made a big impact but imagine the team without Nash. He's not played four games and they lost all four if I'm not mistaken. He is the key player for their style of play, he makes most of the plays and he keeps the tempo high.

Btw. Shaq has won some Final MVPs and other stuff so it's not like nobody'd appreciate his greatness. I'm not trying to hate. You can't argue with his stats and accomplishments. But where would he be now without Penny, Kobe and Wade?

Shaq is the MVP, look Shaq's not on the Lakers and they didn't make the playoffs this year. Everybody needs Shaq, Shaq doesn't need them.

Penny's never been the same after his bad injury.
The Lakers had a rebuilding season and were unlucky with injuries and coaches retirement.

Surley the Magic wouldn't have made the finals without Shaq (in which he got schooled by Hakeem) and surley Kobe wouldn't have 3 rings now without Shaq. But it works the other way round as well. And as I said Shaq has never been the go-to-guy when it counted the most. He's unstopable close to the basket and a rebounding machine but he's not the greatest and only one of many great centers.

a past his prime eddie jones, damon jones aka other teams leftovers, and the un drafted undonis haslem....some supporting cast. doesnt compare the suns incredible lineup.

zo played sparingly over the last month of the season... he doesnt count

without penny, kobe and wade, shaq would still be in the playoffs. penny aint been **** since shaq left him, kobe missed the playoffs without shaq. shaq built the players around him and makes everyone better around him

Penny didn't get injured because Shaq left the Magic. Kobe had a good season and was not responsible for T.'s problems and the injuries.

Eddie Jones is still one of the better defenders and can shoot the three. Damon Jones and Udonis Haslem played their best seasons and especially Haslem hustled and worked his ass off. And Zo gave the Heat what they needed when Shaq was a shadow of his self (because of his injury) lately.

Of course the Suns have a better lineup but it's not like Dwayne and O'Neal would carry them alone.

....I am far from being a Laker fan and I loved the Celtics back in the Byrd, McHale, DJ, Ainge, Parrish, etc. etc. days, but I think Shak is the best center to play the game by a long shot. Defensively he is a beast when he wants to be and offensively there is no center in the history of the NBA that could stop him one on one. He is not just a real big guy. He developed his skills and has alot of touch around the basket. Hakeem was the man when they met but Shak was sooooooooo young. In both of their primes Shak is the better player. Piss Shak off and he was by far the greatest competitor and one of the most dominating players in the history of the NBA. Not only that but he is just a big fuggin kid at heart and I have grown to really like the guy for that.

I find it hard to imagine Nash as the MVP but I haven't really seen him since he's supposedly become "teh ****". I'll withhold judgement til I get a chance to see him but I just can't see him that way.

                    I know he's competent but that's all I've seen.
