....I know we have a basketball thread already but I just wanted to get everyones take on Nash getting the MVP. IMO he deserved it and it went to the right guy. Shak is the best player in the NBA year in and year out but Nash brought the Suns from the ashes like a Phoenix.

Nash as the MVP

He really deserved it. He played the season of his lifetime. Only Allen Iverson had another legitimate claim on this years award. But if you look at the Suns and the Sixers and keep in mind that AI has already won a lot of awards it was the right decision.
Shaq is definitly not the best player in the NBA. He's a dominant center but he would('ve) be(en) nothing without Penny, Kobe or Wade. Not trying to take away from him but he's one of the most overrated players in the last 10 years of this game. And I'm not even talking about free throws. He's been in three championship calibre teams now and he never was the go-to-guy when it counted most.

imo o'neal deserved it more, what does the guy have to do to get an mvp award...he is the best player in the league for the last 7-8 years and only has 1 mvp to show for his efforts. i beleive this is the 6th time he has averaged more points and rebounds than the mvp winner.
why didnt john stockton recieve the mvp, if all it takes is 11 assists and 15 points than stockton should have won the award 5-6 times. dont get me wrong, nash had a great year but he didnt deserve this award. john stockton had far better seasons than the one nash had and nash had more than one option to pass to.
just look at shaq's team.....other than wade, who does he have?
nash has marion, johnson, richardson, and stoudemire. i can only imagine what stockton would do with the suns, i would say an easy 16 assists per game.
there is no way nash is more valuable than shaq.... if someone thinks so they are dumb.

But I guess I'm not supposed to have a fair opinion since I come from Germany, huh? Pretty lame attempt to offend me.

What a disgrace it was to the whole NBA that the NBA all-stars who represente the USA olympic basketball team were put to shame by Lithuania and Peurto Rico. The NBA needs to get back to basics and quit this thug ****. All I watch is college basketball now, and the Illini rule.
