    Music is Dying; Very Painfully

With the invention of downloading songs on the net.

People just download all the "hot" and new songs that are out and put them onto their ipod and listen to them.

Music is supposed to be listened to as an album, a collective piece of work. Not as random individual songs.

Also to blame are mainstream radio stations who play NOTHING that isn't in the chart. And MTV.

The majority of the music buying public is made up of people brainwashed into downloading the newest and highest placed songs in pop charts.

    And it fucking sucks!!!!!!!!!!!

    It's not, it's just shifting.

**** the record companies and all their whining, you can support your favourite bands by going to their concerts and buying t-shirts just as well.

And it has alyways been like that with charts and music on the radio, downloading has not much to do with that. The majority will always be idiots. Still ****ing peasants as far as John Lennon can see...

HAHAHHAHAH......I am in partial agreement with you sir, but when was the last time you actually heard an album which blew you away??? the bands these days are ****ehouse, pop music is a disgrace, female pop artists have zero talent and are nothing but a bunch of glorified Strippers with a mic in their hands......meanwhile you have Pink who thinks she's a 'rock' star, get the **** outta here......Hip-Hop has lost its way and its nothing but autotune now......and whats the point of buying an album if you can get it for free without being charged?????

I wouldn't say blew me away but I really enjoyed the last Sonic Youth album which came out middle of last year.

And the same for The Flaming Lips - Embryonic which was toward the end of last year.

        Co-sign with every you said.

But it wasn't as good as other Sonic Youth albums though. I enjoyed it but it was like Sonic Youth for everyone, toned down, so wasn't quite as good as say Daydream Nation. But there's loads of good albums from last year, you just have to look deeper than most things in the charts.

But I just think, as rochemback said, the music industry is just shifting, and this is the new way it's going to go down. It's already shifting with free music streaming programs such as Spotify, trying to deter people from downloading. I use it, but I also download free albums as well. However, I do go to lots of gigs and start buying things on vinyl if it's an artist worth listening to.

She writes her own music, and she can play some instruments.

Say what you will about her trying her hand at becoming Marilyn Monroe, but talentless I don't think she is. There's worse out there killing music, like Lil Wayne, and Jonas Brothers for one
