It either always was or it never was......Kids should be beaten, they have to learn that there are real consequences for their insolence. Fear his a good tool of learning, **** all of this affirming kids feelings. I used to study psychology for about 3 years......most of it is fabricated garbage.

Spanking is ineffective. I'm not opposed to it for any particular principle, I just don't think it particularly works.

It's far more important to teach discipline and to set rules and consistently enforce them than it is to use any particular method. People used to say that you couldn't control the discipline of soldiers and sailors without using corporal punishments, but military men nowadays are just as disciplined as ever without the use of the cat or the rod.
