man , i read an article where the writer went handgun hunting for grizzly.

the writer and his buddy unloaded with 2 .500 s&w revolvers.

the bear kept coming and their guides had to unload with a rifle and ******* with slugs.

.10mm is a good choice, otherwise, I'd go w/ a six shooter of the .357 or .44 variety.

.454 Casull is a big ***** too.

I got a Taurus 44mag, I was thinkin Id do it with that if I had another one.

man , you use a 10mm or .357 , might as well cover yourself in honey and steaks naked and slap one of its cubs around.

it ain't gonna face an alaskan grizzly. i wouldn't even feel comfortable with a .44 magnum.

most guides won't even let you hunt it with a handgun (i checked. was planning to go but too expensive. $15-20,000 )

W/ the right loads in .357, 10mm, or .44, a bear, I don't care how big it is, is going down.

As for guides, motha*** a guide. If I'm going out to Alaska, I'm going Bear Grylls style.

i think the small bears like brown bears or black bears you can probably take with .357 and 10mm with hunting loads and special hunting bullets.

the grizzly is too big.



you'd want a guide , jack.

i've read of experienced hunters getting hurt.

especially if you go with a handgun , you want a guy with a rifle backing you up.

jack , there's been humans who get hit with .44 magnums and survive.

they're at minimum 3-4 times the size of humans.

i think the average is 500-1,000 lbs.

some are over 1,000.

plus remember if it's charging at you it's vitals are hidden.

the bullet has to go through the shoulder blades and stuff. unless you shoot it when it's standing and the chest is exposed.
