k no! people have gotten hurt or killed even when they use a rifle.
probably a .500 smith and wesson. nothing smaller than a . 454 casull or .480 ruger.
maybe a desert eagle .50 since i can empty a mag and reload real quick.

.10mm is a good choice, otherwise, I'd go w/ a six shooter of the .357 or .44 variety.
.454 Casull is a big ***** too.

man , you use a 10mm or .357 , might as well cover yourself in honey and steaks naked and slap one of its cubs around.
it ain't gonna face an alaskan grizzly. i wouldn't even feel comfortable with a .44 magnum.
most guides won't even let you hunt it with a handgun (i checked. was planning to go but too expensive. $15-20,000 )
