Don't get me wrong my arthropod friend, I too have a passion for marine biology & paleontology, and I've spent a lot of time on the ocean as a commercial fisherman and doing whale watch tours. I have first hand experience with encounters with both GW's, Orcas, & more, plus I live right in the middle of the "red triangle".
The ocean ecosystem is pretty complex, for example the Orca considered the wolf of the sea, hunting down everything in packs, can be easily dispersed when the bull Humpbacks come around, and won't be back for weeks after the bulls leave. Sounds odd being Humpbacks don't even have teeth, but they do it. They swim up to the Orcas and sing really loud in their ears, tail slap them, and rake them with their barnacle crusted fins, causing bloody abrasions that attract sharks to them. I've seen it first hand.
I love your enthusiasm bro, keep learning this stuff.

and If you're ever near the coast, go on a whale watch tour, you won't regret it.
