Getting ready for work with my partner, watching it on CNN. We got to work, we got sent home. Stay home orders and highways shut down in the entire Washington DC area, where I was living at the time.

I was in highschool. they put the TV on at various times in different classes. some classes still taught so it was off and on we were getting information. i didnt see either crash live. it didnt dawn on anyone it was an intentional act at first, they were talking it was an accident then the planes hit the second one and the pentagon.

the people on live tv that day said they heard explosions in the building on the lower floors then the news stopped talking about that.

we had the full day of school and then we had school the next day, full day of school. now everyone soft they would get the week off or some ****

I was 18 years old and getting ready to leave for my very first job. When I was on my way out the door, I had this very sinking feeling, turned around, and went back in the house. My mom asked..."what's wrong"? I told her "Idk? Something just doesn't feel right". Then, she turned on the TV, just as the second plane hit. Olive Garden fired me later that day for no calling no showing on my first scheduled day of work.

I tell this story a lot:

Freshman year in high school - I was stoned and sleeping in Mrs. Weigants French class.

My friend Dimelle woke me up and said "Paul, wake up bro.... the Chinese just blew up the White House."

I said "Shut up, Dimelle" and put my head back down. Thought he was just being ******.

No cell phones back then. It wasn't until the bus ride home at the end of the day that I realized something had happened.

A friend that graduated HS same year as me made it out 10 minutes before the first tower.

He was the one I saw covered in soot.

              Crazy.

Why would you tell that story a lot? It isn't very interesting

And there definitely were cell phones then

Senior year in college at NAU. They cancelled classes and I remember watching the Twin Towers get hit in shock, not knowing yet that it was a coordinated attack.

He probably still has health problems. I remember watching that Dust to Dust documentary a while back. Everybody in that area was affected.
