ya always do this.. why cant ya just be happy and leave it at that? ya always comparing. when someone of another race is in the spotlight, ya always bring up other players who are of a different skin color and then make comparison. it's like ya only want to be the best and no other race can come close. ya weird.

Championships are team things. Players win titles on stacked teams every year. Not nearly as impressive as what Clark did. The fact that you had to go back to Swoopes ( before there were a lot of good players ) 30 years ago says it all.
They have been better since Clark got used to the team and they got used to her. She is the scariest offensive player in the league which is why research has shown that defenses concentrate on her more than anyone in the league. Twice as much as anyone else.

Getting to the finals two years in a row without another 5 star is doing a ton of winning that nobody else could. She split with stacked LSU and South Carolina along the way. The only one to beat South Carolina ( 10 stars ) in about 100 games.
Clark added as much value to a team as anyone in college history.

There were many reasons they were losing. I do think the break will be great for Clark. She has to be tired.

There is also a pro learning curve that those that don’t regularly watch the sport haven’t grasped. They did take the ball out of her hands because her shooting percentage was poor.

Now she has the ball more but is also passing more, which is opening up more open shots for her. It’s still just simple basketball, something those that don’t watch don’t get.

Dawn Staley did that 3 times. Miss St did that in 2018 and 19 I believe- beating the UConn team that won 111 or 112 games straight. Clark beat the SC team that was 38-0 and the defending champ. They hadn’t won 100 in a row.

This happens more than you realize if you don’t watch the sport regularly.

Clark definitely added value we haven’t seen since Candace Parker. More fans, especially opening access to new fans. She is definitely good for the league, a point all that disagree with the theme of this thread have acknowledged.

Yes. The problem, as I noted, is pro leagues tend to market and promote the best players and/or champions more.

Female tennis players have long been getting equal pay. I don’t think they will make what NBA players make but they should see an increase.

No they don’t bring as many or the same kind of fans. That said, maybe the mistake the league has made is marketing certain players rather than the best, as the women interviewed about privilege have discussed.

The only problem with what you posted is it doesn’t take into consideration the highest viewed games in sports tend to be playoffs and championships.

If you over market Clark and she takes a long time to make the finals, you minimize the more talented players.

Understood regarding corporate sponsors. I am talking about who the league chooses to market.

I would push back a bit with the fact the recent ASG was the 3rd highest viewership ever. That means there were at least 2 times when there was enough eyes that more investment could’ve been done.

Serena’s greatness was denied until she was ranked #1 after having won multiple majors. Clark has no championships nor is she the best player in the league.

Extremely big difference in accomplishments.

The Olympic spot on any team should be earned. Not given based on popularity.

She a rookie in the WNBA, Do not tell me she does not deseve a spot on the team, unless of couse you can name 12 better USA women players and 4 better guards .Clark leads the WNBA in assists. Hence the spot is earned.
