You know Wilson, the company who make basketballs. They have a sponsorship with Clark and a special ball for her achievements. The last one to have this type of sponsorship is Michael Jordan.

With just Nike and Wilson endorsements that I read about, Clark is not worried about nothing.
Ok.... no one said she should be worried about anything.

    Thanks for the useless info.

      Did more research-

Clark has had a following since her college days. The attendance records for women’s basketball were also broken by Clark/Iowa.
She is the NCAA all-time leading top scorer (Men and Women’s Div 1).
Clark also has a record for most 3-pointers in a season edging out a record held by Steph Curry.
She is considered must-see TV, a generational talent.

Iowa (Clark) vs LSU (Reese) played back-to-back National Championship games in 2023/24 –in 23, LSU won. Then in 24, earlier this year Iowa won. The viewership was over 12.3 million in 24. The highest women’s basketball game ever and the highest college basketball game ever on an ESPN platform.
You don’t think the media is trying to re-create this in some way…

So basically, if you were paying attention to college basketball (I wasn’t) you would know who Caitlyn Clark is, regardless of race she is a “natural”. The other WNBA players who no one gave a crap about (and still don’t if we’re being honest) should be thankful Clark is bringing the attention to their league that was literally on its last leg.

Literally on its last leg??? Based on what? The league's popularity was increasing before CC was drafted.

Come on Shoulder. Don’t do that.

His wife being white means you suggesting his comments were racially motivated is absolutely wrong.

Not one person said her accomplishments were the result of privilege and not hard work.

They are talking about marketing and promotional opportunities, which is a topic other white players have openly talked discussed, including in the article we discussed in the other thread.

Whitlock also discusses this- talking about her appeal because she is white, straight and feminine.

You know what a great example of your blacks can be racist argument is-Candace Owens comments yesterday denying certain aspects of the Holocaust.

I assumed you’d be all over that. Did you see what she said?

          - - Don't watch basketball any more, much less women's basketball, but really I doubt many of the gals care about her race or any other races.

I'd guess it's only a few that do that the media runs with for extra clickbaits as the media has always done since Gutenberg invented the printing press.

            Useless?

You are the one saying there is an argument it is Aja Wilson. I am just letting you know and others who think that, you are incorrect. Please bring up race and other excuses why the lesbian league is not loved like the privileged white girl.

I'm done, thanks TS. I needed some random subject that is meaningless to decompress this school semester.

Obviously. I thought I made it clear that it's an opinion. That would mean some people agree and some people disagree. So again, you had no point.

I don't even know what you are trying to say. I'm assuming the privileged white girl does love the league

Not sure what you are claiming I'm incorrect about since I also think CC is the face of the league. Whether she deserves to be is a very different question.

I missed a word, I edited my post.

This is the thing, I can honestly say I can give 2 chits about Caitlyn Clark, Angel Reese, or the WNBA as a whole. Just to make that clear.

The research I have done has no bias to it. But the attention that Caitlyn Clark gets is justified. The rest are just screaming for attention.

The research you did doesn't have any bias in it?

You said the league was on its last legs before CC. That's not true, and is disrespectful to the players who were growing the popularity of the league at that time, don't you think?

It's not disrespectful to say that. Unless you were already following the league, they are unknown to the general public. This is a fact. You are right, it is only speculation on them going broke. But the lack of coverage beforehand or the attendance numbers - they were in the negative numbers.

The baiting of the subject in real life was there like I mentioned earlier in the thread and the Sunny Hostin/View video is an example and shows the angle that in my opinion that the media is putting a spin on this "controversy". And both sides who show their sides on this forum took the bait.

I'm not sure how you are measuring something as a fact when there were plenty of people who knew of the WNBA and it's players before CC.
They brought in 200 million in revenue last year, which was a huge increase over the previous year. Attendance numbers had peaked. Viewership as well. And the women who were there at the time playing are responsible for that. In my opinion, it is disrespectful to dismiss what they did to grow the league, but we can agree to disagree.

These gains build on steady growth the league has made in the last few years. As , WNBA ratings have been increasing since 2021, driven by the expanding fanbases of powerhouse teams like the Las Vegas Aces and New York Liberty. In 2023, the WNBA also saw the highest number of total unique viewers it has had .

"Last year, we had peaks in attendance, peaks in sales and tickets, and it just shows that people have been dedicated to this sport," Washington Mystics center Shakira Austin “I think we’re just going to continue to elevate and, you know, hopefully our league is able to, you know, back it up and be prepared for the attention we’re about to get.”

CC's popularity has certainly had a huge positive affect, but t's not CC vs. the "lesbian league." It's in even CC's best interest to have people paying attention to the other players, lesbian or otherwise.
