    This is true.

However the immune system is complex and while you are much more likely to become infected you are still protected (somewhat) from severe disease and death. This is primarily down to T Cells.

This is most likely the biggest reason there have been fewer hospitalisations this time around. The vulnerable have been vaccinated and a bigger proportion of the rest of the population have been infected by previous strains.
Ok you want to dance around eh?
We know South Africa had a very low Vax rate right?

    PREVIOUS INFECTIONS

Do the other countries not have previous natural infections? Or vaccines? So what's the issue?

Nah no dancing. It’s important to understand what the article is talking about.

South Africa does have a relatively low vaccine rate but those vaccinated are the most vulnerable. I.e those most likely to be hospitalised.

even the WHO have had to admit that deaths 'have been low' in africa this year. is strange how that continent without vaccines isnt being completely ravaged by this killer virus which wipes out everyone who hasnt had their 3 shots lol

What’s the average age in South Africa? Nigeria? Ghana?

How does this compare to Western Europe or N America?

What do we know about demographic of people who are most likely to die from covid?

Good luck man. Like I said, if we're so highly vaxxed and so many have had covid and T cell immune response then we should see the same here.

Either way, it's a dud. Unless cold like symptoms need a vaccine now. I mean we were at 99.7% survival rate before omicrom and we went bat chit crazy. So I guess we can do the same from cold like symptoms.

Oh and ***** has a warning for the unvaxxed. Now we just ignore T cell immune response from previous infection.

The problem is the sheer number of cases due to Omicrons increased transmissibility and the lack of protection against infection 2 doses provide.

There have been suggestions we might see cases as high as 2 million a day (UK) by the end of the year.

Even with population significantly more protected a small percentage of a big number will still most likely end up with a surge of hospitalisations.

Well, get your booster. It works they said. The highest vaxxed states should be fine right? Oh yeah NY is breaking records. Why?

Well, it's time for those that believe what they're being told to calmly go on about their lives because the booster works.

And it's time for those of us that don't buy into "hope" to do the same.

All this makes me ask tho. Why did we lock down before with no vaccines and lower cases and deaths? Why isn't that happening now? Oh maybe because the vaccine works?

I just heard today if you get a breakthrough infection you don't have to quarantine. Hmm we know the vaxxed carry the same viral load. So why would they say this? These people can still spread it to vaxxed and unvaxxed. Just ask the NBA and NFL.

if thats from SAGE given their past record i wouldnt trust their 'suggestions' too much. we wont get anywhere near that level, nowhere near.

No one wants to talk about what Dr Faucis boss had to say?
Why would you try and discredit these people?
