Weird thing is I can absolutely sympathise, I really do. I've beaten my head against more brick walls than I care to mention trying to get my beliefs out to people... **** that was so obvious to me but I other people just couldn't seem to see....

Problem is all the circumstances you describe can also be explained by the rather less convoluted explanation that y'know governments and health services around the world are just determined to save as many lives as possible and whilst they would prefer it was done voluntarily they ultimately ain't gonna have endless tolerance for the feelings of a minority of people who believe their right to not give a **** *****s other people's right to life and health.

uItimately governments have always used control of information to minimise or suppress dissent (most notably in wartime, but in any other crisis too) and power has always ultimately rested upon the threat of force. Only difference is you never really got to see it from the blunt end before.

how on earth can you say that. you are from UK right? we've just had a massive corruption scandal recently with our MP's. we've seen the government giving out these health contracts to their mates, many of which had businesses not even involved in healthcare. theyve given out extortionate amounts. all they care about is lining their own damn pockets and those of their friends. there was a list the other day, some of their friends companies have made an absolute fortune out of this and you can bet that the MP's who plugged the companies will be getting a reward too. THEY SPENT 37 BILLION ON AN APP THAT DOESNT WORK. that money is going into peoples pockets not development costs, theres no inquest into it either. you had professor 'pants down' ferguson , the one who persuaded us to lockdown, who was so concerned about following his own lockdown that he had to resign after going round his lovers house, then our amazing former health secretary han**** snogging that woman at work when he was saying we need to follow social distancing. our current one has no medical background and earns way more money WITH HIS SECOND JOB FOR A BIG FINANCIAL COMPANY. they even kept their own pub open whilst shutting all the others to the public. these guys have absolutely no interest in the people outside their own circle, no morals and no compassion. i admire you seeing the good in people but god help you if you blindly believe the BS boris says about 'protect the nhs and save lives' or 'one last push to save xmas', he was walking around the hopsitals without his mask on last week, but its DO AS I SAY NOT AS I DO, and the sad thing is people will do as they say, they always do and always will

Yes. You think this is news to me? I agree with all of the above. Our Government are an absolutely corrupt bunch of cunts. Our entire political system is rotten to the core. We seen that from waay before COVID and the contracts scandal at a time when the pandemic should have been the single focuus of any decent government should have inspired insurrection. However that does not demonstrate that lockdowns and social distancing and ultimately the rollout and increasingly coercive pushing of vaccines was not the health policy that offered the best chance of saving the most lives and minimising the overall impact on public health.

I'm trying to show you that it's possible to seperate the two things... understand that to me power - systems of power at least - will always be both corrupt and intrinsically corrupting. And under an economic system which revolves around the concentration of wealth this makes what we call 'democracy' an almost laughable child's fantasy. Not only can we not trust out politicians we shouldn't expect to, more or less, although the odd decent person might make it close to the top they're exception rather than the rule and will be quickly silenced or removed if they don't toe the line.

However, one of the mitigating factors built into our systems because our the whole ****show would collapse without competent and dedicated appointees to actually keep things running smoothly whilst our elites line their pockets are our career professionals in health and research, even much of the civil service, much of the military too although that's a whole other can of worms.. People who actually do offer the best advice they can and do count their public duty as meaningful.

Add to that- and this is what gives me hope - the simple pragmatism of any Government. These ****ers want to get voted back in... they want to keep us placid, compliant and during a health crisis the best way of doing that is to save as many lives as possible and to get this thing out of the way as quickly and effectively possible. Longer it drags the worse they look and the more confidence the public loses. So yeah. That. Plus of course like I say the COVID response - given a little latitude for the usual snafus and predictable corruption - has pretty much been precisely by the epidemiology tectbooks.

We have how many people on this site that had covid. We just had this poll and none of the unvaxxed had to go to the hospital including my family.

I do know my personal doctor had a adverse reaction to the shots and had to go to the ER for two seizures. She now has a autoimmune disorder.

Everyone we know that has the Vax has had covid after the vaccines. All but one is saying they're done with the shots.

The two I personally know did not have the shots. One said she felt like she had a mild flue, plus lost (temporarily) her sense of taste. The other was deathly ill and in intensive care for more than week. He is home now but there are lingering after effects that are only slowly going away. In my circle of friends there are a number who have lost family members to COVID so I know it can be a killer. To get or not get vaccinated is a calculated gamble. My wife and I are fully vaccinated, but we are older people, so imo it makes sense for us. My daughters on the other hand would rather not be vaccinated and that is their choice and probably a safe choice based on their ages and health.

As far as the mandates go that is a political issue with motives other than our health.

I've said it many times on here. You want the Vax I'm good with it. If it works I wish they would stop trying to force us to get it. That's my main complaint.
