Man wasn’t meant to live or travel in space. It’s just a black void of nothingness.

I think about all these weird things like black holes, pulsars, quasars, stars, gravity, dark energy, dark matter so strange.

Like I get so used to living in this planet, and it’s very easy to completely forget there is an “outer space”.

As far as our Solar system goes, it’s like we live in a rich ass gated community. Then you look at Mars and Venus and they are like uninhabitable ******s of the Solar system.

Then to make it more crappy, the whole thing about us being the sole planet that was in the zone away from the Sun enough for life to form. It’s surreal.

And to also think that we just happened by chance.

Then there’s things I think about like is the universe finite? Does it have an end? If so, what is beyond the end?

From the little that we know, it’s hard to find habitable planets. We don’t know if they are abundant, rare, or non-existent. We just know they are non-existent in our solar system, aside from Earth. You look at our Solar system, only one planet is habitable. Considering this, and observing how violent and cruel space is, you can tell why not all planets are habitable. We know that much. The right events need to happen, the right time is needed, and the right star is crucial. The planet would also benefit greatly by avoiding collisions somehow (by not being in the wrong place at wrong time).

Earth essentially won the lottery. But space’s lottery games lead to a higher chance of their being life on other planets than there is for me or you winning the actual lottery.

Btw, nobody “knows” this for a fact. There is no evidence, just scientific theories. Just like those who say god created everything. They don’t actually “know” that. But the theory that the Earth happened by chance is very plausible and believable until it’s proven or debunked, it’s the best we have so far.

What we actually know about space gets more elusive the more we learn. basically we have a pretty good idea how big things move because they give off waves which we can look at and tell: if things are coming, or going (Dobbler effect) and what they are made of. But this is a very gross level of understanding compared to Quantum events, those behaviors at the subatomic level.

As far as habitation I think its logical to assume the other planets are not habitable, but we really do not know this either.

I believe most scientists think there are thousands of "earth" planets out there, some that we believe to have found through telescopes - but impossible for us to travel to - at least any time soon.

Might be better to spend the trillions of dollars it would cost on housing and feeding humas here on earth.

They don’t spend trillions on science and space. You should instead look at what they spend for the Department of Defense. The trillions they spend there. Take up issue with that.

The most amusing issue of the DoD and the US spending all those cool toys and weapons, is that the war has spilled into cyberspace.

It’s so bad right now, that a defense official quit because the US is so behind China and Russia in cybersecurity, that the US is really no match for them. And even worse, nothing is really being done about it. Cybersecurity is still not the priority for the DoD despite ***** raising the budget for cybersecurity, the raise pales in comparison to what the US likes spending on cool new toys. But still, raise the budget for more jets. We need those trillion dollar jets to fight these 3rd world countries while China and Russia just ****d the US for billions of dollars in ransomeware money in 2020. And that number likely went up in 2021.

And ***** was no better. ***** was actually sucking off ***** while Russia was attacking the US. It’s like he was all for it. Just bend over and give it to my country with no vaseline. That was *****’s answer to Russia’s cyber attacks on the US. Even though his own intel team was telling him it’s both Russia and China attacking us, not just China.

But yeah, let’s continue to focus on the physical aspects of war. Cybersecurity is not important. Even though our biggest rivals, China and Russia, are now exclusively fighting us through cyberspace.

When you have a DoD official, an American, a chief software officer, quitting and calling the DoD’s cybersecurity “kindergarten level”, you know it’s bad.

But let’s complain about NASA’s dinky budget. Where actually, China and Russia are beating the US there too. Not only that, but both countries want to work together on Space projects. Don’t worry though, no one messes with the US when it comes to our military. We are still #1 there, with our trillions of dollars worth of jets, even though our rivals don’t need a military to completely cripple the US in ways that we are nowhere near ready for.

You make a point, it is military and defense spending by all nations that needs to be redirected. Obviously that will never happen. I would still add that any spending on space programs should be toward efforts that benefit all of mankind.
