Not until new ownership takes over at least.
Talk about job security.
Eric had the best job going.
At least 2 HOFers in/near their primes
A system that works.
A boss who may be ready to retire, giving him the reigns.
HC's get fired every year
Especially newbies.
Maybe they gave him a bunch of undisclosed $$$$$$ ???
But, yeah. Makes 0 sense anyway you look at it.

Remember, you wanted me to compare Lamar and Derek (I'm trying to be thorough)
So here goes;
Teams win, if we are being honest.
But Ok -
Lamar
45-16 .738
Stable team. No drama.
Derek
63-79 .443
He basically had new management/new system every year.
Dysfunctional to say the least
2019
Lamar's MVP season, their Strength of schedule was 20th
13-2 .866 (top seed)
Got sent home by the 6th seed....AT HOME.
Oak had the toughest schedule that year
Finished 7-9. No postseason.
Statwise
Lamar benefitted from an easy schedule whos team ranked 1 in Off 4 Def
Had a very good td to int ratio and QBR
But it was his running that caught voters attention.
Just like experts are loving Fields for his RUNNING ability.
Still got sent home (they didn't have to go far) by the 6th seed....
Derek had 21 tds to only 8 ints.
His weapons ?
Waller and Jacobs.
OK season
2020
Balt 11-5 .688 2nd (5th seed, 1-1)
Their strength of schedule was even easier, 27th
LV 8-8 .500 2nd
LV had the 6th toughest schedule
Statwise
Lamar was 22nd in pass yds, 27th comp %
Carr 11th and10th, respectively.
They were even in Sacks, TDs, INTs, QBR and RTG
Lamar topped 1000 yds rushing, though
Carr is not a running QB.
Safe to say, so far, Lamar was flexing on terrible teams.
2021
Well, what do you know....
Balt 8-9 .471 (4th)
They had the 2nd toughest schedule
No postseason
LV 10-7 .588 (2nd, 5th seed 1 n done)
8th toughest schedule, though
Statwise
Lamar missed (conveniently ?) 5 games
Sad stats
Carr has yet to miss a game
Carr would have made Balt a playoff team this year
2022
Well, what do you know....
Balt 10-7 .588 (2nd 6th seed 1 n done)
Strength of schedule was 23rd
LV 6-11 .353 (3rd)
7th toughest schedule
Statwise
Lamar again missed 5 games
Pedestrian stats
The dysfunction was complete.
Carr finally misses 2 games, not for injury though.
Better stats than Lamar on a per game basis.
OVERALL
Lamar, given a soft schedule and no drama, will do well in the regular season.
Derek, performing with chaos from within and tougher schedules, did as well, if not better than Lamar, while not being injured.
There you have it.
Carr would be on my team every day of the week.
Now, you go ahead to show me how Lamar is better.
You forgot to put Derek Carr's playoff record.
You often mention Lamar Jackson only winning one game out of four in the playoffs, so I imagine playoff records are important to you.
What is Derek Carr's playoff record?
