He couldn't breath and to make sure he wasn't faking Chavin strangled him. Is that what you are getting at. Or was he so concerned about Floyd's welfare that he applied his own version of first aid.

Beercules is absolutely correct. It is a common myth that if one can talk they can breathe... Its patently false.

When it comes to chokes it is.

If you're getting choked enough that you can't breathe, you can't talk.

Now if you can't breathe because of other causes aside from chokes, say...... drug overdose then maybe you can still talk.
