Whatever sanctions will be imposed will be smaller than the cost of taking it to court. Has to be. Imposing a transfer ban or preventing entry into competition will results in a massive lawsuit and considering how shakily the whole FFP thing has been concocted it's a lawsuit they would lose.

Frankly the system is entirely inequitable and was designed from its inception to encourage the already richest teams to pull away from their national rivals until they can form a European superleague, which I suspect was Platini's goal the whole time. If you can get twenty sides to be so far ahead of their national competition you can make a compelling argument that they are no longer competing in those leagues and need to join another closed league just to be able to have a chance. Problem is those pesky billionaires keep getting involved and closing the gaps between the teams making a superleague less viable.

Face it, any system that calls itself "Financial Fair Play" and doesn't address the ridiculous way that TV revenues are distributed in Spain is a joke.

Oh i know it's a joke.. and thought it was brought in because Platini got a bit upset that the english clubs were doing so well a few years back in the CL. Talk of it seemed to die down after Monaco/PSG got brought out though.. first time i have read about it for a while
