Kuwait to be precise. Not sure what the family are worth, but rumoured to be in the billions.

Cotterill sacked within the first 2 days of the takeover.

Harry Redknapp has ruled himself out of the job lol. Ferguson of all people has been installed as the early favourite to take the reigns (that's Duncan).

As well has Mick McCarthy, Maradonna (lol), Stuart Pearce, Alan Shearer, McCleish, and just about every other vacant name you can think of.

Gonna be a fun season, and one i'm actually looking forward to.

      But I've never been convinced.

AVB playing him right-wing was a nightmare by and large last season though even though he scored goals. He doesn't track back, he pulls out of challenges, and he doesn't hold the teams shape, he doesn't pass to anyone. And is always on the fringes of a game.

Someone like Carroll is always a factor in a game. That counts for a lot, imo. Drogba was shite and hit and miss until he was about 26. Carroll hasn't got the pace but I'd be surprised if he isn't a dominant Premiership striker within the next 3 years.
I think with Sturridge it's a case of giving him a decent run in the squad in his proper position he impressed me when he was @ Bolton on loan. 8 goals in 12 isn't anything to be laughed at especially when you're getting **** service.

Even under AVB 11 goals and 5 assists bearing in mind he hardly started is a pretty decent contribution. But like you said he aint the physical type like a Drogba or a Carroll.

I think he was a first choice under for the most part under AVB for the right wing. But he got punished when for the first time he actually did track back (against Man U I think it was) because he conceded a pen. After that he was fecked off.

I just think he's your old school poacher, chelsea use more a focal point who can join it all up. Chelsea have never had a use for a poacher but we've never had clever, subtle players like Mata, Hazard, Marin and maybe that Oscar bloke supplying the bullets.

I don't think he's up for signing a new contract either and he has an ego on him, so I can see him upping sticks at some point.

Yeah I remember he featured a lot at the start of the season (after his ban) but faded more and more towards the end. Just depends how Di matteo sees it. I mean he's on record saying that Torres's place is by no means secure.

And tbf we're not sure how Hazard will turn out in his first season (personally think he could be one of PL's best players this year) but yeah having someone physical up front defo helps. And you need that strength in depth if to win things, in an ideal world you'd want to keep Sturridge just in case.

To be honest, out of Hazard, Marin, and Oscar I have seen Hazard play once, Marin once, and Oscar four times.

But it's safe to say all of them are better than Malouda, Kalou and Sturridge as part of the front line - I'd hope so anyway.

avb's system was tailor made for sturridge. he was being groomed like hulk was. hulk was a left footed cf before being put wide. just like sturridge.

now avb is gone, sturridge's role has vanished and with his ego, dude likely won't try to change his play.

but hazard, marin and oscar are all quality. i watched marin back when ozil was at wb. marin is good but he is a side-kick. he shines when there is a quality guy in the middle.

hazard is legit too. i don't expect his numbers to stay high, they will take a hit but he handled himself well against many of the guys he will see in the prem. (english bus.)

oscar though. i haven't seen much of tbh. not like i have marin and hazard. but he can't be worse than malouda.

I've actually seen Oscar the most out of all the players we have recently signed/signing. Just because of Brazil's Friendlies being on TV a lot at the moment, and the Brazilian league being on TV.

Oscar is Modric-like in my opinion and Spurs's too I assume as they also want him. He's not very quick but he can get past players because he has good balance. He looks very two-footed and find great angles for passes. He seems to have a better engine than Mata and also has a happy knack of tackling players and intercepting passes. He can also shoot from distance.

I don't see him as a number 10 like Brazil use him. He'd be sitting alongside someone like Mikel and breaking from deep.
