I think we need another striker, Lukaku is raw and physically Sturridge isn't much, he's more of those: 'oh ****, he's scored' types like Chicharito.

I think Sturridge will make a name for himself this season. Chelsea will defo strengthen the squad before the start of the season with Drogba gone they're not gonna bank everything on Torres.

Maybe, used in a central position might be the making of him. Making runs off the back of defenders like an old school Michael Owen type.

But I've never been convinced.

AVB playing him right-wing was a nightmare by and large last season though even though he scored goals. He doesn't track back, he pulls out of challenges, and he doesn't hold the teams shape, he doesn't pass to anyone. And is always on the fringes of a game.

Someone like Carroll is always a factor in a game. That counts for a lot, imo. Drogba was shite and hit and miss until he was about 26. Carroll hasn't got the pace but I'd be surprised if he isn't a dominant Premiership striker within the next 3 years.
