    People who hardly watch Real games like to judge Marcelo though. People act as though he hasnt improved defensively this past season. The kid is young and will only get better and better defensively for every season.

    Offensively he is already the best left back ever.
    I'd rather have a defender who can defend instead of a wannabe winger.

      He isnt a wannabe winger. he is an offensive left back.

      Winger is an entirely different position

      Oh and Marcelo can defend. He held his own against Barca, and several other good teams last season. But no, he was labeled as "cant defend" a couple years ago so nobody will see improvements in his game.

            Aren't you (and Emz) meant to be Arsenal fans?

            Bale is a better attacking fullback than Marcelo btw. He actually gets into the squad at international level as well.

              Real had a pretty easy run in the CL up till Barca.. so what are these good teams he defended well against?
