No, unlike you, i actually watch La Liga. I know Ronaldo has become better since coming to Real. He is a far more direct player and doesnt attempt a million useless stepovers.

And La Liga is a better league, because in EPL they arent used to dribblers like Ronaldo, in La Liga all defenders are used to that and better against defending at it. These defenders are playing because of their skill, not because of their physical attributes like in England.

Ronaldo had an easier time getting passed defenders in England, than in la Liga.

Great post, also might I add. Unlike the EPL, Spanish defenses don’t allow to be open as much and are more compact. They can hold the ball more than EPL clubs, making them much more difficult to break through

Another thing with Messi is that because he always has 2-3 team mates in close proximity to pass to straight away when he gets the ball it throws the defender off in Messi decides instead to go at them and take them on. He's better on the ball than Ronaldo but Ronaldo can't disguise it like Messi can and has to beat people on pure skill and raw power.

English teams don't care about Europa league. Man City easilly had the talent to win it this year but didn't really try hard enough.
You must have heard Harry Redknapp talking about it the other day, when he said he'd rather drop down a place and let Liverpool take 5th so that Spurs didn't have to enter the Europa league.

Barca are the best team in the world by far, Madrid are decent too but United could beat them, an on form Chelsea could probably beat them too. They have a top 2, England has a top 4 and possibly a top 5 or 6 next season depending on how teams strengthen in the summer.

I also disagree that their mid table is good, it's really not. Villareal got thrashed by Porto in Europa and Valencia who are 3rd in the league got knocked out of the CL by Schalke who were beaten 4-1 by United's reserves.

Messi cant score against great teams who play very deep. He never scored against Inter, Chelsea or Real. The only big teams who play defensively against Barca. I know he has scored against Real, but that was when they werent defensive like now. After Mourinho came, Messi has only scored against Real when they were down to 10 men.

Messi hasnt unlocked those defences once in his entire career. Without room he is nothing. Even Greece managed to mark him out of a game in the world cup.

That being said, Messi is great when his team is dominating against lesser teams or naive teams that play offensively against Barca, like Arsenal for example.

I actually share some of the same criticisms about Messi.

But Im talking about in general. Look at their assists for example. Ronaldo never plays the kind of defence splitting passes that Messi does. And Messi was excellent in the 5-0 game despite not scoring. His pass for Villa is something Ronaldo could never do.

He did NOTHING against Inter over two legs. nothing at all... Against Germany in the World Cup same story, you wouldnt even know Messi was on the pitch.

The penalty shootout was what decided the match and he choked from the spot. If John Terry hadnt slipped, it would've been Ronaldo that cost United the final instead of deciding it in their favour.

I agree with you on the things about Messi. Which is why I dont think hes the greatest ever yet. But hes still above Ronaldo

Schalke replaced their manager between the VAlencia games and the United games.

The new manager is *****. none of the midfield players tracked back lol. You saw how open their defence was. Schalke were a shadow of their former self.

Not only that, United sends over people who can't cut in in the Premier league like Forlan and Rossi and straight away they are scoring 20+ goals a season. We send over Pique and he's Barca's 1st choice CB.

And it's not just United. Tottenham send over Freddy Kanoute after really under performing in the Premier League and then he's suddenly having 20+ goal seasons. And it's not just 1 season they are consistently scoring these many goals over many seasons.

Fran Merida couldn't get a game for Arsenal, now he's at Atletico making 20+ apps for them. And let's not forget Giovanni Dos Santos who's at Racing Santander, he couldn't get a game for Spurs.
