The exact reason why Arsenal and United are no where near what they were, has everything to do with how inferior their side is man 4 man from their good sides.
Why? cause good players make great teams. United, Chelsea, Arsenal's side, are no where near a top championship winning side imo. United might win the league, but they wont have won it in a strong period, which might give people a false perception of the talent they have currently, but when push comes to shove, we all know both Arsenal (2004), United (1999), would **** the current sides of the respective clubs, and its not cause they were great! teams, its cause they are simply much better man 4 man.
I take the point Real have had great players in the past, and flopped, but this Real side, especially under Maureen, looks more balanced.
JM plays direct and effective football based off a sound defensive unit.
He can't do that at Madrid where he is expected to deliver expansive football imposed by firstly the fans and secondly the officiating.
Obviously he is still a very good man manager and will get the best out of the team he's got but he's not playing the football he's accustomed to - and that really dampens the 'Mourinho effect'

But if i turned that question around and said how would Real do in EPL?
I could say Di Maria or Ozil wouldn't be half as effective with Karl Henry trying to snap em.
The answer to the original question, who's the better team then seems to be Real for La Liga and United/Arsenal for EPL.
The real test for the better team then surly lies on head to heads. If Real played United or Arsenal 100 times who would win more?
IMO it'd be something close to 50-50.
Yeah, but thats cause you have selected so many! games, and when push comes to shove, whilst they are better, they are not that! much better to be able to win in that regularly, I doubt any team could be.
Try 10 out of 10, I doubt we would win 5 of those. Ronaldo would have Clichy on toast.

He essentially plays with two! defensive midfielders.

But my point was it's tough to call between the teams, there not miles apart.
