Was James Milner twisting everyone up when he broke through? I doubt it. It would have just been evident that he was fit, robust, professional, and had just enough talent to make himself a player.
Chelsea do have one of those poor youngsters actually. Washington in the reserves was bought for millions. Has 7 goals at PL2 level and that's it. Bought for £20 million. Not included in preseason and can't find a loan for him and he's older than the Barcelona kid.
Imagine the Chelsea coach taking that session and literally seeing him take his first touch and thinking - nah. A lot of kids at Chelsea will be and are better than him.
Whatever happened to a trial? .
Surely the sensible thing is to have them in 1st team training for a few weeks.
Tbf great news for Washington and Soonsup Bell as they will be on decent money.
